Backpacking Santa Cruz Island at CHANNEL ISLANDS National Park (Prisoners Harbor to Scorpion)

Hello from our 43rd US National Park: Channel Islands! The Channel Islands are 8 islands off of Southern California's coast and Channel Islands National Park consists of 5 of these islands. We spent three days backpacking across Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the islands, starting in Prisoners Harbor and going all of the way to Scorpion Cove. It was one of our favorite backpacking trips and national park adventures yet!

I was really looking forward to seeing this video! We were just out there as well and you guys were able to show us the side of the island we didn't get to experience. (Prisoner's to Potato Harbor) We got to enjoy Scorpion Ranch, Cavern point and walked down right by your campsite. We also loved the wildlife sightings of the whales, dolphins, Foxes and Island Scrub Jay's. Thank you for showing us and also excellent job with the camera work and editing! You guys are fun, informative, and funny! My guess for next stop after your food will be Pinnacles NP or Big Sur. Looking forward to wherever you end up!

So amazing! I am trying not to comment on every video as I am trying to catch up. I can’t even imagine the time it takes to respond to all of these comments. I think it awesome that you do and I appreciate it. This was just too good not to leave a comment. Incredible video and an incredible location. I am wanting to do the Eastern Sierras next year because I want to get to Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Mainly because I am worried something is going to happen to those groves before I get a chance to see them if I wait any longer. Anyways, I am well aware of Channel Islands but it wasn’t too high on my list of the CA National Parks. Wow, was I mistaken. It looks magical. Thank you for highlighting it. May have to see what I can do get out there if we make this trip happen next year.

I balked at the price of the ferry but then realized it was round trip, and in the end the amount of sea life you saw made it less expensive than a whale watching tour! Looks like so much fun, especially the adorable foxes. Great catch of the C-17 globe master too. That's my favorite Air Force plane to catch a ride on.
