Backpacking RED ROCK Country | Mojave Desert WILD!

Hi Campers!
I go solo desert Backpacking into the Red Rock country of the Mojave Desert of southern California. I love the wild and scenic desert and experience the beauty and mystery of a solo night in the wild. I have a wind storm that challenges me in the middle of the night. I experience an amazing sunrise and talk about the Academy Award Winning Western movie "The Big Country " that had famous scenes filmed right in this area! I love the desert!
Let's Go and Keep Hiking!!

Red Rock Canyon State Park just off highway 14 south of Ridgecrest where i grew up in the 60's and 70's. Quite the alien landscape there and a lot of the old original Lost In Space television series was shot there as well as the even more alien looking Trona Pinnacles a little further north just south of Trona. I live in Missouri now and you've brought back a lot of old memories of childhood outings for me. Thanks

Nice to see Red Rock again Chris. I used to go there when i was young. I worked for a family near there who moved to that area from Minnesota. When the tv show Bonanza was filming an episode there, they had trouble getting the horses under control, so they sent word up to the store for Mrs Means to come over to the canyon. She had a reputation as a horse whisperer, so she came and gentled the animals for them.

So you’re free to put tent up anywhere you choose? wish we could do that in Australia, we are allowed to only in designated areas. By the way i don’t see you carrying much water in desert

That's petrified wood. Giants cut down the giant trees. I choose to believe the Bible. What we think are mountains are stumps. Trees were thousands of feet tall.

I don’t like the main course meals that you cook in some kind of petro chemical poisonous pouch. I just don’t like the taste of them. I know they try to make them good but I prefer my cooking
