Apparently most of the functions of the newest Teddy Ruxpin were directly inspired by the Furby Connect, like the LCD eyes and Bluetooth functionalities. I'm guessing the sleep mask was inspired, too, but I might be wrong. I wish they had the idea to keep Teddy's eyelids, though. When you lose that sleep mask, you get the lovely image of Teddy staring into your soul with his empty hollow eyes 24/7! That's fun, right?

I'm overjoyed that they included audio from the live action in the program! The live action is what drew me in to Teddy and his world and hold it close to my heart because of that. Awesome video as always. Btw "stay weird you friggen weirdos" is a brilliant outro ;)

Dani Panda ʕ ᴖᴥᴖ ʔ Hello friend! And I agree, the live action was what really immersed me into the world of Teddy as a kid. I had never heard any tape besides “The Airship” and hadn’t seen the cartoon, so it was so cool to finally see who all the characters on the inside cover of the book were!

Your videos are very interesting/cool! I just recently found my old Teddy Ruxpin in one of my storage boxes, (haven't seen him in at least 20 years) and it inspired me to look up some history and found your videos. Mine is the Playskool version with the 8 track style tape cartridges. My two favorite toys as a kid was Teddy Ruxpin, and Toby Terrier. I got both of these guys for Christmas in 1993 when I was 5 years old.

They almost brought back the 8-track cartridge with these. I love 8-track tapes. I have a huge collection.

My 1985 teddy ruxpin sounds like he’s drowning and sinking

I had one of those and bought new in 2007 and gave it to my nephew years later for a gift. I was super disappointed he didn’t ship with the full airship. Otherwise I like the overall design.

the only cartridges and books you need is music series with lullabies and christmas and adventure series 2 with take a good look and grubby's romance.

peter videos Ahh, thanks for letting me know! I read somewhere that they produced “Take a Good Look” and “Grubby’s Romance” for this Teddy, but haven’t been able to find them anywhere yet!

The doll came out first (wow) 1985 . then the show about a year or 2 later. that is why the sound tracks are different.

The live action special came out in 1985. The CARTOON version came out in 1986 and ran until 1987

They only came out with 3 box sets

IDon't bother getting the new one on the LCD I are cool but it's basically the same stories in the second half of Princess so you better off with the one you have
