It definitely won't last as long as your other one. With backpacks I find that spending the ten or twenty extra dollars (or in my case, euros) is usually worth it. I used my eastpak all throughout secondary school and a few years into uni -about 8 years in total- before the bottom was so worm it got a few holes in it. I get it though, sometimes you're tight on money.

Eastpak is great! I have had it for about 12 years. I used it everyday for 7 of those years. I still use it very regularly. You also have years of warranty, from 3 to 30 years. Very sturdy bags. There are always back to school sales. I was considering buying a new Eastpak bag, but I can't find one that fits my needs.

Agreed. During middle school I constantly needed new backpacks bc the straps would rip under the weight of my school books. Been using underarmor, a hand me down quinny freestyle and a second hand leather bag since then and they're all still holding up perfectly (ofc I don't carry heavy books on the daily anymore but I do push it sometimes)

True my cheap ass bags never lasted a year. Till i found the perfect bag which was also still cheap🤣 i could use that for my last few years n now i use it now and then been 5years for now. Another one i use for atleadt 3years straight. And i think it was 5 to 10 bucks. Its not really abt the money. The quality of the material and how its sewed is important. And the way u use em and store them. My friend spend alot on a bag and that one lasted 2 years only.

Honestly I would keep your old back pack for the next year or so. If you see any suspicious wear and tear on the new one it may not last for a long haul like the jansport

Oh, I wouldn't get rid of the Jansport regardless. It's a good backpack, you can still use it for hiking, for the beach... So that you can dirty it all you want without worrying about it cause you gotta stuff your school/work stuff on monday.

I wish there were cute and fun backpacks that were well-made. I’ve gone through my fair share of Hot Topic backpacks that lasted 2 years max even after reinforcing the straps. The under armor one I have now may look boring af, but it still looks brand new after five years.

My dad's Jansport bag from like the 70s finally broke the strap a few years ago. They have a lifetime guarantee. He sent them an email and they fixed it for free after just sending it to them. I highly recommend Jansport rather than anything else. I still use mine I got in elementary school for college

Don't know the material of the one you got, but _usually_ if it's not cotton/canvas the bag doesn't hold up for more than a year or two (usually a hole will appear on the bottom or near the stitching in high stress areas like zippers or straps)

They’re a little pricey, the regular size is $80 but Kaken backpacks! They’re amazing! My sister got hers like three years ago and it still looks brand new. Despite the size they can fit a lot in there and have a foam piece in the back to keep your books/items from pressing against it. They’re environmental friendly and super easy maintenance too.

I found my pink and ue Jansport backpack at Goodwill a few years ago for a $1.99, and it's served me well.😊

Personally I prefer Jetstream bags (I found mine at Walmart), they have this one bag that has a lot of pockets, a buckle so your water bottle doesn’t fall out, the only downside is that mine lasted me around 4 years (it could probably go more but it’s quite beat up) but it fit everything I needed. I got another so let’s see how long that one is gonna last :]

The brevite backpack is really great, I just got it, but it’s def a big price tag

The only bag I've had throughout high school that actually lasted for years, and I mean literal YEARS, is my Eastpak. My parents bought it maybe 10 to 15 years ago for one of my sister. All three of my sisters used it and the only thing that had to be repared in years was one of the straps. Also the colour faded, but that was to be expected after that long. I repaired the straps and it still works fine. I've carried loads of books and my heavy laptop in there and it always held up ☺️

Nice! Second person I've seen talking about Eastpak. I love it when stuff lasts for a long time, but once it's finally time to replace them it can be bittersweet.

ive had my north face backpack since my freshman year (about to be a senior) so far so good! the only issue is that some people might find it to be too small for their supplies

I have a Borealis Classic that I found on sale for 50 bucks (which is pretty good considering the regular price is double that). I have a love hate thing with it. It's pretty roomy but I find it difficult to get things in and out of, specially if I'm going to school/work and the gym, where I need to pack all the necessities plus lunch.

I would keep your old backpack…I bought a Wallmart backpack and the straps ripped in less than a month

i got a vera bradley backpack in grade 7 and have had it ever since and it’s amazing. so many pockets, huge, and super cute designs. i would go to pay a little extra for something a little nicer.

I really like the LL Bean ones, they’re more expensive but they last at least 3 years and hold a lot of stuff, I used it in 2021 cause we had to carry 4 one inch binders, 2 text books, and iPad, I pencil case, 2 work books, and other stuff like phone, AirPods, charger. It also had 2 water bottle pockets!

I got my bag from Academy in 7th grade. It was 40 dollars but that was on sale and was originally 60. I’m a junior (11th grade) now and it has no wear and tear and actually checks off most of your list. I put that thing through hell every year but it survived and I’ll keep it as long as possible

I get all my backpacks from L.Lbean and have had mine for six years and it has no damage at all and if it does eventually have mabye a cut then then will give you a new one of that bag so I'd suggest getting a bag that cost a bit more and one that will last for a very long time.

I have the same Nike backpack since the last year of middle school. It's been 9 years and I still use it, no problem. Only lost a zipper puller (? specific english words are hard lol) and when I'm not using it, it getters some mould outside because of the humidity, and all I have to do is clean it with some water and alchohol and is perfectly fine.

I bought for "cheap", being Nike, it's probably a fake but looks very much real. I believe it was 150 or 200 BRA$ which is NOT cheap, but totally worth it cuz still is lasting, and I used to carry very heavy books and been through 4 or 5 trips with it, and still is good. Only some ink from the logo has faded

can't beat the quality of LL Bean or Jansport and don't they have lifelong guarantee

There’s a reasons that they’re so expensive: they have high quality straps with good support, they’re made ethically with good materials that will last long, they all the extra pockets and a padded laptop compartment, and they come in some cute designs. To me it seems pretty worth it to spend that sort of money on a backpack that you’re gonna be keeping for years in years

I have had my kanken bag for about 8 years now and honestly it's as good as new! Its a little more pricey but so worth it ,I can just keep stuffing stuff in and it feel like its never full!

i bought a really nice canvas messenger bag this spring and i’ve never had anything better. it has 2 pockets on the front, one the size of the bag on the back, one full length compartment on the inside and some little sewn-on pockets, two the size of a regular smartphone and two the size of pens (i have a thin ruler and i use those two pockets instead of a pencil case) the canvas is really thick, zippers are sturdy and it has some genuine leather patches, all from a local manufacturer for a reasonable price (around 60 in euros). buy your bags to last

I have my favorite backpack with a million pockets and padded laptop space. It's almost like a hiking back pack and I got it at the flea market lol. I bought two for $30 and gave the other on to my sister

I got the embark jartop backpack this year and I currently love it- I have to carry a laptop, 2 text books (one standard and one shot amsco one) 2 folders, 2 1inch binders, 1 3 inch binder, hygiene things, a pencil pouch, a set of colored pencils, a phone charger and computer charger, and my lunch and orchestra music- yeah… it’s fitting it all and it’s holding up realy well

I honestly think that sometimes, if you can afford it, it’s worth splurging a bit on a backpack (if it’s something you use everyday). Anytime I’ve gotten cheap ones I find that they fall apart within a year or two but the one I bought most recently has served me well for many years. I always suggest checking outdoor brands because they usually make their backpacks out of hearty materials and also have good compartmentalization

Dickeys is a pretty solid bag with pretty good and lasting quality.

I typically go to the sport section of a department store to find bags. They range 20-40$ usd but are always better than what's on the outside bag areas. Cheers and good luck Frens.

My problem with this bag (or maybe with the way you packed your stuff but I really doubt that's the case) is that there's not enough compartments. I can't put valuables in the front pocket, that's just asking for them to be stolen easily.

One thing iv learnt over the yrs is that brow is the best colour. Black always seems good but if it falls in dirt it turns brown so always brown for me. I went to a school were the cleaners would never sweep the floor and anytime my bag fell, when i pick it up it would be brown cuz i had a black bag

A lot of people seem to think this backpack won’t last long, but I disagree; it’s a Dickey’s. since they mainly focus on work gear, it tends to be pretty long lasting

I bought a $50 backpack 3 years ago and it works perfect!!

I just got a Himawari size large and so far it’s pretty good! I had a Samsonite before this but it had a design flaw where it would open and completely dump my stuff on the ground. The Himawari isn’t quite as functional since it doesn’t have padded straps or way too many pockets like I prefer but it doesn’t have the design flaw the other had. Really the biggest upgrade besides that is that it’s way cuter.

My criteria was padded straps and padded bottom (I had one backpack rip bc of a textbook) as well as a laptop compartment, water bottle compartment and adjustable straps, and easy to clean. I got a really good one but it was pricey (thankfully my company paid for it) and it has lasted me my last 2 years of undergrad + two years of grad school + 4 years working. I still use it, it’s my main work bag and it’s sleek enough that it looks professional when I take it to conferences

I have different preference than you do so I require a whole lot more pockets and whatnot. I found exactly what I needed on Amazon and it was on sale for $20. It works like a gem and is the absolute most toughest and protective backpack I have every had.

I recommend like good quality laptop or gaming bacpacks found in like a flea market, they're sturdy, spacious and i got mine for $25 it was a really good steal bc of my assigned chromebook, 3 books, 1 tarot card deck, two sets of 48 ohuhu markers and still more room for my nintendo switch controller, charger, pockets, and a sketchbook. Basically i love my backpack 🎒 😌 💫💖

if you’re looking for one with a water bottle holder, do NOT buy the ones with mesh pockets. 2 months in and it was already tearing, had to get a new one asap.

Jansport is the best because if your backpack breaks some how you can contact them and they will ship it to them and fix it and then ship it back to you. Also the brevity backpack sucks they are trying to make it seem like a million things can fit in there’s even thought every back pack can do the same

Ok so far this is the only video where I actually agree with her. $25 ain't too bad for a bag, mine on the other hand had a charging port and stuff so I could use it for my laptop by hooking up a portable charger (or something like that I haven't rly tested it yet). While her's has slightly less functionality (basically just the port so not a huge deal). I'd say that was a good buy.

Honestly, I wouldn’t say it will last sadly. I honestly think that spending the extra money on one that is more expensive is soo worth it. Brevite definitely holds up to its price! Yes it is so expensive! I spent about two hundred dollars on mine, but I do have an expensive camera to protect and it has held up from the abuse. Plus it is really stain resistant. Most of the stains come out with a simple scrub down.

If it's from Walmart most likely it won't last but it looks nice and for $25 lasting a year or so isn't bad. However I tend to go to places like office Depot or staples, so those bags are made for professionals so they look nice, and they tend to hold A LOT.
