Real, authentic and good les media for example is Carol (2015) with Cate Blanchett. What they are doing is creating characters specifically because they arent a certain type, not because they happen to be... I have to hide words otherwise my comms will be deleted. Like calls now for university dorms only being a certain type, also nights and evetns specifically for certain types, but not a type like the person we hear speaking in this video. Do you get me? No pass required, the character's age never existed under the current canon. Its one of 5 million small details no one ever got around to changing on a website when Disney reset the official canon back when they bought the rights because it hadn't come up. Now its come up, and now its set within Disney canon. If they change it again you'd have a point. But yep, they can change the canon at will because they bought the rights to Star Wars. How much you care about Disney Canon or Lucas Canon or EU Canon is up to you to decide.

Look at how they talk about star wars in interviews compared to the interviews around Padme. My thoughts with this were initially the same, though I find it much more likely that they actually only want to keep the number of people who know Filoni is in on this limited so they can drive the narrative that people are mad at only the women involved with the show. We should be a LOT louder abt Filoni's involvement in this project.

I just realized how deeply I despise the wardrobe for this show as well. Look at every last jedi wearing that hideous white and gold robe combination, like they're all employees at the Jedei-Mart, and then take a look at the prequel Jedi... Theres an obvious uniformity, right? Everyones got similar tunics, boots, cloaks and idk I guess those are like ceremonial pants or something, but there is a wide array of variation and individuality to be had. Anakin wears an odd amount of darker colors, black in specific. Kenobi is more traditional with kind of his cream and brown. Mace windu has like his own thing going with this almost pewter colored robe set. Hell, Aayla Secura looks like she's going clubbing on the lower levels of Coruscant! 😆 But this High Repukelic garb is just so hideous and uninspired its like they had a mandate to be distinct in some way from the prequels, came up with this ONE color scheme variation and then just used it for EVERYONE with no thought given to how boring that is visually to look at again and again and again.

Ki-Adi Mundi's age is Cannon, not legends. Along with TPM merch his age was 70 officially. Even if you ignore the age change, that's not what fans are mad about. He shouldn't be there. He, or any of the council, shouldn't be anywhere near this. There is no point to blatently disregard and play these games with cannon. This show should sink below 10% for this episode and the horrible writting althroughout. Don't even get me started about how they painted it like Jedi have no regard for life because "it's returning to the force". So it doesn't matter if things die now? Why are you hunting a murderer? They are returning to the force, right? What does it matter? Brain dead understanding for script approval. If that's truly Filoni, kick him out. Disney needs to get the message, there is no fanbase for the direction you are taking things. There is no money to be had. Clear the team that wants this direction and start over. I suggest Timothy Zahn series. That's your only hope to bring people back.

Issue is they havent retconned his species lifespan either. The males in his species live 50 years on average, in the prequels he was already very rarely alive at 74 when he died. Now hes over 160 and 100% isnt able to be alive in the prequels

Ki Adi Mundi and everyone else there don’t know about the sith. They think Mae is a rogue Jedi part of a splinter order, they acknowledge her training and derive that it MUST be from a Jedi because they are too arrogant to realise the possibility the sith are back. Mundi suggests they just tell the council but master Rwoh says no as the council would be obliged to tell the senate which would make a public mockery of the Jedi. This shows how far they’ve fallen and that the Jedi are more concerned with self public image then their duty to the galaxy, and that they are blinded by the dark side.

They are lazy as hell writers with no respect for whats come before, why go to all this effort just to put a character in a show that isnt born when the show takes place. It just creates more holes in disney star wars's canon for absolutely no gain. The show is still horribly written and has no reason to exist story wise, adding in legacy characters doesnt make it any better. Mundi later becomes a council member and still denies very openly the existence despite evidence of one being seen by one of the most respected members of the order. Or is his character now dumb as bricks like the people writing the show all of a sudden?

It’s clear that Lucasfilm doesn’t give a f*** about Star Wars. They need to fire everyone and put the franchise on ice. Maybe give it another swing in 25 years. Perhaps by then we will have exited this bizarre phase of pop culture.

This is what happens when you have women write stories, it turns into another Buffy Crossover Musical Episode.

Just some honesty people. Fans want a rich history of character they love. Amazing well written story without any agendas or DEI. They are also sick of the directors and Disney using fans as escape goats for bad acting and badly written story. But if Directors, Actors, and writers start calling fans names and accusing them of being toxic men, racism, sexism, anti-female, or bigots with the DEI agenda. Fans will fire back and these big companies forget that what makes a movie money is the fans. You insult them with name calling and accusing them of being something just because they want a decades rich story well written without DEI. They will boycott your movies. Back when the Original trilogy was in theaters, diverse crowds of humans stood around the block waiting for tickets, all enjoying each other's company. Nobody was excluded, nobody was told, "This isn't for you!" or "You're too toxic to stand in line with us." Nothing in the movies beat us over the head with politics. This was pure, escapist entertainment, and a LOT of the fans were young men who weren't the alpha coolest bad-asses, and their friends, families and dates. These guys loved being able to escape and feel like greatness was possible. Now? Diversity and Inclusion doesn't include us, not even a little bit. I have seen Star Wars from the day it started in 1977. Tired of decades of Star Wars rich history being destroyed just to please a DEI agenda. After Star Wars 1 throu 6 it has gone down hill. If it is not made by George Lucas.. It is not Star Wars period.. And before you go screaming bigotry. This has "NOTHING" to do with women or your skin color. I just have the boldness to say what every other Lucas fan is thinking. mixed feelings on that particular debate mundi being alive 40 years before he was supposed to be born, well it's certainly rewriting the lore but it's not mind boggingly stupid as some additions they have done. and we don't know how the story evolves in further episodes so him not knowing about sith is not yet lore breaking not yet all in all, compared to the 1st 3 episodes, this one was much better (though still not golden). I usually am very critical of all the lore breaking stuff they introduce. but for once, I tend to think people are overreacting to the little retcons in lore this episode introduced on this one

And the funny thing is they really meant well with show. Iger ordered KK to "produce something that will reunite the fans". KK said "kk, i need 200m USD for production". Headlamp came in "If you give me 200M, i will get Squid game guy and put some legendary names on screen, people will love it" What could go wrong? :)

Ki Adi Mundi when Ki Adi Tuesdi shows up: 👁️👄👁️

The Wookie Jedi Scene was probably cut for a variety of reasons. One it was probably badly filmed with all the various reshoots and directors each episode has. Two it made the already baked in plot of Mae joining her sister & the Jedi look bad if the audience saw her killing the Wookie on screen. As such i think they dropped that scene in last minute editing.

You know at this point there's only one way to save Star Wars and that's to pull the parallel universe card ! From the force awakens we have been watching an alternate universe ! It is the only to explain this train wreck of a show and everything Disney has done . Better yet Han wakes up in bed next to Leia and realizes it was all a bad dream.

"He never had a birthdate in canon" yeah but there's still canonical lifespan for all different species. And it just so happens that Ki-Adi's species have a lifespan of a regular human, which would make him well over 100 years old in the prequels. I'd like to see them try and weasel their way out of this canon fk-up.

I believe the "budgetary reasons" excuse. This series was "finished" years ago but countless re-shoots ballooned the budget. I don't mind birthdate changes - but amnesia?

I know a lot of people get lucky in life and move up into positions they shouldn't be.. But Dave Filoni taking over SW is like a first grader skipping second and hired as principal.

Shout out to you for properly calling out Star Wars Explained on this. That lecturing, self-righteous post is exactly what they criticize others for doing. It's also telling how they call out others for "cherry picking what to hate" when they in fact, cherry-pick what arguments the other side is making, then minimize them in such as way as to paint their counters in a more positive light. Ki-Adi being in this show undercuts the exact purpose of their channel by breaking canon so blatantly. The transactional nature of their coverage of the franchise is so apparent when they are gifted access, red carpet premiers and tours not available to the public, and not available to those who have been die-hard fans of the franchise longer than they've been alive.

Ki Adi Mundi was definitely intentional. The only jedi we here in TPM say Sith haven't been seen in a millennium, so that's the jedi they decide to pick out of the bunch and add to the episode where the jedi see the sith. Clearly intended to destroy George's original ideas. They could of picked literally any other jedi but nope, had to be the one who claims the sith haven't been seen.

Hey man I just subbed to your channel. I found you when you help out on the G&G morning show. Keep up the good work.

I can tell you why they added Ki-Adi-Mundi. They wanted to add legitimacy to their garbage because they knew it was garbage but needed some kind of anchor to 'validate' the show in the canon. They couldn't bring in Yoda, though, because if they did they knew it would cause much more damage and outrage. Why else would Yoda, a guy we *know* had to be around at the time, not be part of this story at all? Why, you ask? Well, if he showed up then Yoda would steal the spotlight, to say nothing of how poor writing would tarnish his and the franchise further. So they got Ki-Adi-Mundi, a character that canonically exists in the franchise with am ambiguous age that they can fiddle with in order to legitimize their claims that this show too, is canon. They showed their hand though with Mundi because he *explicitly states* as one of the two lines he has in the entire prequel trilogy that 'the Sith haven't been seen in a millenium.' Good work, Leslie... you played yourself. This isn't like people whining about how the lady dwarves don't have beards in Rings of Power, this is futzing up and now you're finding out.

Over saturation + bad writing = public outrage. There’s a lot of people pissed about the obvious “woke” agenda too, but honestly I bet most people wouldn’t even care about that if they just put out less projects with quality writing, compelling stories, and intriguing characters.

there’s no defending disney star wars. they’ve really screwed the pooch on this one. no take backs after blaming fans and calling them every offensive smear name in the book for simply being passionate about star wars and its lore and asking “why” and “what the F?” disney doesn’t deserve a loyal fan base any longer.

Budget was almost $200 million and this is the least lightsaber, blaster or spaceship action I've ever seen in something called "Star Wars". Where did that money go? Certainly not to pay great writers. If it weren't for the few good actors in it (Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Anne Moss) I'd have nothing good to say about this show, so far. I also wanted to see how she expected to use her Matrix kung fu on a wookiee that can literally tear her apart. Lightsabers to the mid-section kills wookiees and male Jedi, but not young women, apparently.
