For those who have said they needed more time, I'd recommend they replay the lessons as many times as needed so they get the repetition needed to comprehend what Ensor is trying to say. Each person is unique in how many times they need to see and/or hear something before they get it. So, I'd recommend replaying lessons for which each person needs to hear more than one time. As there is no charge for his lessons, it's a FANTASTIC value for a public service.

You are a fine teacher! 👍🏻 For those who say it's too slow, this is perfect for beginners. If somebody wants a more condensed overview, there are several out there, it may be useful to watch those and then come here for the details. I played often, many many years ago, forgot all I know, and I thought looking at a few of the "condensed versions" would jog my memory, but no luck. This video was perfect to solidify the rules and moves. I really like how you addressed salient topics in separate videos. I'm always impressed by somebody who can teach like this, as you said at the beginning, no script, but everything was perfectly fluid and if it were me, it would be filled with um's and uh's.

Thank you, very much! Don't worry, I had my "ums and uhs" moments, as my backgammon software recommendations video ably confirms! I cringe a little every time I hear it now.

Since we watched your videos on how to play backgammon, my husband and I bought a set from Amazon (with felt board and folding for travelling). We are now hooked and have played over a hundred games as the weather has been cold and rainy. So wanted to say a big thank you for your easy, clear and helpful videos.

Excellent instructional series! My spouse and I learned the game from Ensor42, and our first game together was well-informed. We were able to discuss strategy and the prudence of prospective moves. We enjoyed a delightful game and anticipate more fun!

I've never played Backgammon before so thought I'd give it a go. I play games for my own amusement on an iPad with the computer as my opponent . I loaded he game but there was no instruction as with most games so I was pressing anything, thinking I would pick It up as I went along. No hope ! Didn't have a clue !! So I watched all 11 parts of you videos and hey presto I won the 1st two games ! I thought the instruction was very clear and put in a way that I understood and remembered it. Thank you very much. 😀

Thank you :) A slow paced tutorial was always the objective, and I admit that it has received some criticism for being TOO slow, but I stand by the decision to make it as beginner friendly as possible, and your kind comment is among those that suggests that it did hit the mark for most of the intended audience. Much appreciated.

I watched all the videos and they were superb. Ever since I was a kid my parents always bought me games compendiums every christmas and i taught myself Chess,Draughts,Poker Dice,Cards etc but I always wanted to learn Backgammon but i never understood it (its on my bucket list) thats how badly i wanted to learn it and after watching these vids I now understand it and its now time to buy a decent backgammon board. My first games compendium was in 1974 so it just goes to show how long ive wanted to learn this game and after watching these brilliant vids I can honestly say thank you so much to Ensor42 for actually making it sound simple. If I was a millionaire i would leave you something in my will, but im not so thanks anyway lol.

Thank you so much for making a great video. This is the first vid that didnt speed talk thru and jump to gameplay. I hope to teach them how to play after I learn first.

I learned the game, playing with friends, on the beach in Long Beach New York, way back in 1972.... And it has been my favorite game ever since. I have it on every one of my devices... I have a few separate electronic versions, including a pocket version.... plus a leather bound version similar to the one in the video. One of the world's best games.... I play some, every day! Some people learn the game quickly, like I did, and some never do learn it, like several of my friends... who never master the spacial relationships... This group of videos should be very beneficial to those people......... Excellent!
