We’re going back to the salt! Last year, I had the chance to drive Roger Beckman’s and Tim Cox’s Camaro at Speed week. They sold that car right after Speed Week, so I wouldn’t have the chance to drive it this year. I can’t thank them enough for letting me get my feet wet with this last year, guiding me through the process, and helping me to get my license runs in! But I wanted to go back and The Turks had such a good time that they decided they were ready to go back again too. So they offered their car up for borrow and David Frieburger offered his engine up for borrow as well. The car is at the shop and needs some updates and upgrades which will happen in the next few months and then it’s time to head back to Bonneville for Speed Week 2024! I’m so excited to have the chance to go back again this year and it’s really special to get to drive this car. Stay tuned! This is going to be a blast.

Hahaha, the smile on her face as they open the trailer doors is just awesome. She's like a kid in a candy store for the first time. Go Alex.
You are a lucky girl and a hekk of a racedriver. And its nice to hear your sister talk more, not just filming. And she do a good job😊 Awesome family.
I worked for SCTA Speed Week and The Shootout at Bonneville as security for 7 years. I lived in Wendover and loved every minute of those events. The drivers and crews were all amazing people.
Bill at old mans garage is VERY familiar with blow thru carbs on small block chevys.

Bill with old man’s garage could help you out. He’s building a twin turbo blow through carburetor small block right now he’s a wizard with carburetors he hates fuel injection. He’s the perfect guy for you.

I was going to suggest Bill, too. His son Billy's S-10 was a small block, twin turbo with a blow through carburetor for years, and it was fast. Bill is a wizard with a carburetor, and he has a close relationship with ATM carburetor company.
Steve morris has experience with blow through carb race engines .
You definitely want a boost reference fuel pressure regulator. Regardless, if you're using the box or not. When using the smaller hat. You need to add extensions onto your bowl vents, and bent them over, so they are facing the incoming air. Make sure you get your reference from, on top of the carb, not under it. But the blow off valve, needs to be referenced from under the carb, being that's where the vacuum will form first, giving your BOV, the best response time.
Poor Dennis, once again it's " hurry up and get it done" - Alex! Father's day is coming!!! ha 😊😊😊
That is a very very special iconic car with legendary owners. No doubt this is the most recognizable salt flat car in modern history. A opportunity of a lifetime, congratulations
Get a hold of bill hoskinson at the old mans garage, he may have a blow through carb you could use. And he is a carb whisperer.
Watching NHRA and this at the same time. It’s a good day! I hope to see Alex running in a pro class soon🤞
Meg, you and Alex make great videos. I never pass over them. I'm a drag racing fan but I'm supremely interested and fascinated by the Bonneville content, love it. I want to attend speed week.
I really appreciate what a family and friends can get done when time is short. Love your videos and looking forward to more.
Alex your my hero! Can not believe what you have been able to accomplish so fast wishing y’all the best!
Alex Taylor you and your family are awesome people and good luck and be safe and God bless you guys
Bill with old man's garage and SRC channels. Bet could tune it perfectly.

Yes you have to run a boost reference regulator with blow thru carburetor I run a CSU 850cfm on my 427ci SBC that is procharged but I run a MSD 6AL programmable with a msd 3 bar map sensor.
Hmmm... Give Bill Hoskinson Sr. a call? He has a ton of blow through tuning experience as we have all seen. A different race model of course but his 1500HP+ exp cannot be denied.

Many carb guys run EFI systems with carbs for data logging and power management. Old man can get it right but he is too busy building street cars on his channel. Steve Morris has a hub Dyno!!
Call Bill Hoskinson from “old man’s garage” and ATM carb’s. Bill has been doing Billy’s and it’s well over 1200hp twin turbo setup. I’m sure Nick has there info!

I can’t wait for your Plymouth to come out in hot wheels within the next month or two! It looks killer! Do you have any to show sneak peeks of?
Dennis/Alex, I recently converted a blow through carb (CSU) to EFI for drag and drive and other applications. It has a dominator base and was on a 555 with an F3-131 Procharger. Probably needs to be rebuilt, but I will donate to the project. If interested, I can provide details
Dennis is a champion fella really like him
You're a very talented person and I enjoy watching you.
Bill hoskinson !!!!!
A shakedown run at an asphalt airforce runway prior to running on the salt to get some idea for the tune?.
steve morris had one on the dyno a short time back
Talk with Steve Morris about smal l block procharged he is on top of building them he built a 372 and made 1022 horsepower on pump gas and 0 degrees of timing and turned boost up to 19psi and put c16 in tank and it made 1143 horsepower on 0 degrees timing.
Steve Morris knows how to tune blow thru carbs. He has a video on him tuning an engine he had built with one years ago.

Great garage segment, I love bench racing. This should be fun to follow along.
Alex, as you have I've been working on cars since I was a kid yet I still learn something in each of your videos--& they are fun to watch. :)

Perfect Caster effects explanation there. Shopping carts have negative caster, Choppers have positive caster. Positive Caster is essential to 'self-centering'.
@ZIPCORD
2 ай бұрын
That was my understanding regarding shopping carts too. But then I was corrected by someone wiser than me. A shopping cart front wheel has "slip" where the pivot point is not inclined but the wheel is offset set rearward (or could be forward) of the non-inclined pivot. For it to have caster the pivoting bolt holding the front wheel stirrup would have to be inclined. A bicycle fork has slip too when the fork curves forward. But the pivot of the fork below the handlebars (inclined rearward at the top) also has caster too. Most children's tricycles have slip, but no caster and as such they don't (typically) self center.
@PiDsPagePrototypes

@@ZIPCORD The 'Shopping Cart" explantation is the easiest to give, and most commonly used, when explaing to non-engineers, because they've seen how shopping carts wander all over the place, especially over any bump in the floor.
Looking forward to seeing you at speed week again! Praying to the Salt gods for hot dry weather.
Your commentary & your dad's is awesome. Gotta speak about your talk about caster. First road bike I rode for many miles, was a 9 1/2' chopper ridged frame with 47° rake. Riding was riding the 250 rear tire, with 150hp went straight but corners were awesome the more throttle the tighter it went. Was mint, now ride comfy couch 2010 Road king. 😀 Small block from Summit is gonna be mint.
Call Steve Morris on the blow thru.
Hey Alex look up Bob Johnson 55 Chevy Belair Land speed record. He went 202 with a carb in 2013. It's in Hot Rod Mag.
