Thomas Wilson doesn't get enough credit in the trilogy for his SEVEN characters. He plays 1955 Biff, 3 verisons of 1985 Biff (Bully, Detailer, Rich), 2015 Grandpa Biff and Griff AND 1885 Beuford.

Even with me loving the the MCU, LOTR, Star Wars, various DC movies, and other genre films/franchises... I gotta say that "Back to the Future" remains my favorite trilogy ever. It's just such an inventive, yet easy watch. Unlike most trilogies or series of movies, the BTTF trilogy really feels like one really long movie/story, thanks the fact that the sequels both start right where the previous movie ends; there's no time jump (so to speak) or significant passing of time between the films; it just feels like 1 long adventure. The characters are super memorable and likeable (for the most part); the stories are unique, complex, yet easily digestible; and the music by Alan Silvestri and Huey Lewis are just classic. Love that you're discussing it.

Over the years whenever I'm asked to rank these movies, it always seems to be in constant flux depending on which of the 3 hasn't been seen most recently (currently III is topping the chart which is rare, because I usually do marathons) ---- same way I've always approached the Indiana Jones TRILOGY (yes, there are 3 (T-H-R-E-E) movies), which seemingly only get better and better with age... Fantastic work on the breakdown, my favorite part was the real-time realization bit that kept happening. HAD ME ROLLING--- "Holy sh!t! Is that Elijah Wood?"

The clock on the General Electric coffee machine at 9:08 was also set to the correct time (though it's obscured by an X that was taped over the hands. Guessing Doc did that because he couldn't change the time on the machine, so the X is meant to be a "don't look at this/it's wrong/broken" kinda thing), so there's a couple that snuck through :D

Maureen Steinberger, an very experienced horse rider, did all of her own riding even running her horse alongside the train and reaching for the handle, which was then grabbed by her stunt-double. The #3 stream train was used in many tv shows and movies, including, The Unforgiven. It's located in Jamestown, CA, at the 1887 Sierra Rail Town where they give rides.

A note on the Texaco stations throughout history: In 2015 the robotic voice at the station says (If I'm remembering right) "You can trust your car to the system with the star". This calls back to a 1960s Texaco slogan, "Trust your car to the man who wears the star" (several of whom we see in the 1950s).

I think Marty would’ve made a significant enough of an impression on his mother and father that one of them would’ve thought doesn’t Marty look just like Calvin Klein from the Enchantment under the sea dance. It’s just one part often movie that I always questioned.

It's cool and all that Marty was able to get back to the better timeline, but he left the rest of us in the timeline where Biff becomes president.

    5:03 that's a military duffle, not a punching bag 😅

It was a 4 year gap between the 1st and 2nd. Not really rushed. 2 and 3 were back to back.

At about 5 minutes… I never realized that was a punching bag Marty was carrying. I always thought it was a military Seabag with clothes in it. Since they were doing laundry it made sense to me

At 24:12, you talk about Einstein's watch. In that section, from the moment that the DeLorean disappears with Einstein, to travel 1 minute into the future, that actual scene between departure and arrival is 1:21 seconds. So the scene took 1:21 seconds to film the scene to get to 1:21 AM in a Time Machine that requires 1.21 Jigiwats

This series is a masterclass of film production/directing. All the little props, sets and lines carried over from one to the other in seamless perfection. You know, in time (pun slightly intended), Hollywood will for sure ruin this with a remake/reboot. 😮‍💨

I went to see Part 1 when I was 11, I had £20 for my birthday money and took my brother and sister to see it.
