Back to Bedside Nursing After 11 years Away...

I am going back to bedside nursing after being away for 11 years. In this video, I share why I have decided to back to bedside nursing and how. I believe that bedside nursing is a powerful tool when harnessed in a way that will support our careers. I am currently a DNP in leadership and have been away from the bedside in leadership and educational roles. Watch this video to see how I am adding a bedside RN role to enhance my career.

This hit me hard. I also graduated BSN 11 years ago, but then didn’t practice it.. I was confused on what I really wanted to do, jumped to other fields.. Now, I am 100% decided to go back to nursing. Hopefully I could pass the exam and have a fresh start. 🙏🏻

All the best! Even I left my nursing tutorship job to work in Amazon (lol I know this was very random) but long story short after working for two years today I quit and now I am going back to bed side. Super Excited yet nervous at the same time.

Awesome! I think having an open mind and letting go of what you can’t control make for a much more pleasant bedside working experience. Enjoy!

I love your videos! Can you do one on the NGN coming in 2023. I’ll like to hear your feedback. I do think critical thinking is something that the novice nurse isn’t strong in.

I've been away from the bedside for 4 years and I am having a difficult time because hospitals want recent experience. I don't want to work at a SNF because the nurse-to-patient ratio is dangerous. I don't know what to do.

It is very tough right now! I am not sure it is reflective of “normal” non-pandemic times. Hang in there! It does get better.

I want to go back to nursing after 9 years. I’m so anxious. I want a home health job. I don’t know if they will hire me. I don’t know if they will train me. I’m studying and reviewing everything I can.

Going well! Staffing is hard, but I only have to do it twice per month. I really love being with patients again and so appreciate the extra income.
