They made tyr an absolute badass, upon seeing him in the DLC its immediately apparent tha Odin was impersonating him and mocking tf out of him. It's night and day. But what i love about tyr is that he isnt a complete 180 of how Odin portrayed him, ge is still incredibly kind but unlike Odins version he isn't naive or afraid to initiate a fight for a righteous purpose and he carries himself like a warrior and his aura is different, i love how subtle yet not subtle it is

He is such a cool boss too. Like 1: he doesn’t trash talk u, but actually compliment you, and 2: all of his attacks are really fair, well telegraphed and learnable, like I beat all his encounters in like 1-2 tries, depending on how much health I made it to him

Kratos regaining the blade of olympus was the best thing I've seen in a long time.

No other series loves their fans as much as GOW, this whole dlc is like a love letter to the franchise. I loved all the little references that actually served a purpose towards character development and genuine plot profession.

Not to take away from what SM did with this dlc, but Sony probably paid them alot of money. And many other games have made amazing dlc that were love letters to their series, Dark souls 3's Ringed City, Witcher 3's Blood and Wine, Monster Hunter World Iceborne's Alatreon and Fatalis updates

@@ArjunB5 Yes, I absolutely think Sony and SM would come to a monetary agreement. Don't forget Sony owns santa monica, which means Sony funds them, and as much as I believe SM would be willing to make a free dlc, it's not feasable economically. They have to pay animators, character/level/ armor/weapon designers, actors, music and sound production, you really think they are paying for all that to get nothing in return ? Lol. This is a very well known sales tactic, how many people do you think bought or are buying GoW ragnarok just because "hey, free dlc, cool" ? The dlc is free but it will sell more main games. Also if Santa monica has a positive public image, so does Sony, in a period where alot of people are pissed at Sony. The only company that has gone above and beyond genuinely for free is Capcom with MH in general, but specifically monster hunter World Iceborne, and Rise sunbreak to a lesser extent, but still a significant amount, and they're probably gonna go even harder with Wilds. Edit : It's also very convinient that the dlc releases during the holidays, and GoW Ragnarok is on sale (I think, not 100% sure). But again, my goal wasn't to shit on the dlc, I think it's pretty cool.

It also can make beating the game feel more rewarding, you didn't JUST go through the levels beating them, you went through the levels over and over, learning the entire game.

1. This whole DLC is basically therapy for Kratos. And I love that Týr is his therapist, who is making sure that he gets the point by beating it into his head. A proper *Spartan therapy* lol 2. I appreciate that Kratos and Mimir are well and truly best friends at this point. Kratos giving relationship advice is something I never thought I'd see. 3. I love that these boss fights show the distinction between the real and fake Týr. Týr is wise and humble, but is ready to throw down at a moment's notice, clearly being strong enough to make even Kratos respect him as a warrior. Whereas Odin portrayed him as a still somewhat wise, but ultimately useless and pacifistic weakling. A blatant mockery of everything he stood for.

Oh damn no kidding? I unlocked all the upgrades from the pedestals, and had pretty much gotten all of the little trinkets at the start of runs, so I figured I was done. Guess I'm diving back in! Certainly felt like there might have been a little something extra hiding beneath the surface!

My advice is upgrade your stats in the beginning such as vitality to take less damage when hit as well as the health bar to increase it, focus on the chests don't just pick what you like, pick what is necessary most importantly vitality and strength. This DLC is tough even on normal difficulty if you don't play the game regularly. Play smart and defensively. You got this.

The problem is some gamers are too antsy to get to the combat gameplay, that they forget all about the rest of the gameplay that supports the combat. They get stuck with their heads up their asses, and they don't take the time to see what options are available to them in terms of upgrades. They get impatient, and ignore everything they should not ignore. They get intimidated by words, when it's really not a lot of text at all. Just basic reading becomes a chore. It's basically the dumbing down of society, because "I WANNA FIGHT AND KILL THINGS. That's more important than improving my character."

The story of Mimir's old master is a retelling of the Theatre play A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare. It's implied that Mimir was the character Puck or Robin Goodfellow, the funny, tricky little servant of Oberon.

Not to sound like an ass-kisser, but I think you're genuinely incredible at making hours of straight gameplay entertaining, especially for people who are mostly here for the story beats. I've seen the top dogs of gameplay channels with half as much charisma and editing chops. Anyway good shit keep it up proud of u

By god of war i love Kratos whole story from ps1 to ps5. He is of the few gaming karakters who has been trough everything. They did such a good job of humanizing him from monster to redeem hope.
