Remember classic Hong Kong horror films? So does Nate Ki. And they inspired the young filmmaker to dive into the genre with Back Home, his feature debut. It stars Anson Kong Ip-sang of Cantopop group Mirror as a Hongkonger able to see ghosts, who comes home when his mother, played by the inimitable Bai Ling, is hospitalised following a suicide attempt. Everyone who has seen it seems to have a different take on what it's really about. What will yours be?

"Back Home" made its world premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival in July 2023. It is in cinema in Hong Kong now.
