My almost two years old son, was in a very bad mood. He was crying and yelling and was utterly uncooperative. Then I started playing this music and he was quietly playing by himself for 1 hour 40 minutes and 55 seconds. Thank you Bach, and thanks for uploading!

It amazes me how young children 'get' music. Once a friend's 1-yr old toddler was dancing in her diapers to a Mozart keyboard sonata. There's a spot where the composer substituted a syncopated beat for a note in sequence on its third repetition. She caught it without a hitch, and no, she hadn't heard it before unless she was somewhere else in the house while I played it for myself. Another time I was babysitting her while I played some Bach recording she started bouncing up and down to the rhythm, obviously happy and content. She's now a 30-something and seems to have no interest in Bach. Too bad. I, on the other hand, didn't discover Bach until I was 13. At the age of 76, Bach still speaks to me like no other composer, not remotely. In fact, this music only grows on me as I age.

Absolutely beautiful to listen to for the audience and it must be an absolute hell for the flautist to perform. There are some extended passages here where it seems Bach forgets the flautist needs to breathe. It seems that whether it is choral, keyboard, violin or something else Bach's music always demands quite a lot from the musicians to perform it correctly. But what beautiful torture!! Wonderful peformance--thank you for putting this on youtube.

At 38:00, one of Bach's greatest triumphs of floridly permutative logic. The counterpoint is vigorous and amazing. The music soars. And a wonderful transition at 39:32. Bach digs into a triple meter swing and just does amazing things.

ok.. it makes sense.. thanks for the reference.. I have never seen and would never see a movie about aliens (nor zombies).......well, except for the good novels....and of course Alien, ET, Star Trek, Star Wars... My favorite Martian !! I'm glad now I know.. so if aliens do "like" good music may be they can recognize other "good things" in human race or in some human beings...
