I’m simply amazed that one human brain can have the bandwidth to drive that many hands and feet at that rate. Astonishing!

I have heard the term " octopus"; lovingly applied to organists. Nice photography of the clavier and pedal work here. As for the arrangement, let's call it "credible", the Brandenburg Concertos were not originally written for the organ. Nice, competent interpretation, though.

It is called a concerto for a reason. Normally there is an ensemble of instruments and players required to perform this piece. That one man can do it on this impressive organ is mind boggling.

This arraignment doesn't require any changing of the stops. And keep in mind there are organs that have controls for effects that you activate with your knees. Ya gotta be a monkey for sure.

The organ is considered to be the queen among the instruments, but somebody who can play it so masterfully deserves to be called the emperor among the organists.

No, I deliberately used the term 'queen', there has to be some gender equity, and in German it is 'die Orgel', which is feminine@@tommyrawlings3046
I wholeheartedly believe that Bach composed for organ even when he wasn't composing for organ. Magnificent!

It's been called the King of Instruments, whereas trumpets have been called the instrument of kings.
Someone said: "the organ is the king of all instruments." And Mr Scott plays it just perfectly.
WOW what a gift to possess the ability to play such a complicated instrument to that degree of perfection .
The Brandenburg concerti was one of the first records I bought 50+ years ago. I still enjoy that record and am thrilled by the Scott brothers’ amazing rendition of it. Those two always amaze. Thanks so much🎶👍
In centuries no one else has understood the brilliance of this piece and translate it to the pipe organ. Congrats Johnathan, you are a true great, a magician of the pipe organ.
Bach nous fait entrer dans le sacré de la vie ,il rejoint l harmonie de la Nature.
This Bach piece on a magnificent organ brought back memories of my dear father. He just LOVED organ music. I remember waking up, as a young child, early Sunday mornings to the sound of Bach organ music in our home. It developed in me an appreciation for organ and classical music that has never left me. My father paased away in 2019 at 90 years of age. I miss him greatly, but listening to this music gives me comfort. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Mere words cannot do justice to this performance. Jonathan, your playing is always excellent, but watching your hands & feet dance to this piece, well, who'd have thought it was humanly possible? Bravo, just bravo.

Seriously? Never thought one person could play a "concerto"! Amazing performance!
Grandissimo interprete, un virtuoso.
I’m just… Wow. Words cannot describe.
I was first exposed to this at the tender age of 12, when my father bought and played 'Switched on Bach' by Walter (nee Wendy) Carlos. As wonderful as his/her interpretation of various pieces of Bach and other composers on a huge Moog synthesiser are, nothing will ever beat the majesty and power of a pipe organ.
I'm a huge fan of Bach & this is one of the best renditions of his work ive ever heard! Simply mind blowing!

Hearing the Adagio arrangement could be the more intriguing one, given how few notes Bach left in its score
I was watching this guy playing the organ and couldn't possibly figure out how on Earth he could play so quickly, for a while pondering about the talents of really skilled artists. Then I realized my replay was set to double speed 😆
Bach's mind must have been magnificent, to have "heard" this in his head and committed it to complex notation. Only a superbly-skilled musician can do it justice. Excellent!

I close my eyes and the music sets my soul a-crying. I wish I were there to feel the vibrations of the resonating deep notes.
Bach and Jonathan a perfect combination.
I have always loved this piece and after venturing into the other concertos, they are all magnificent. Bach was a brilliant mind, and I hope many hundreds of years from now his music will still be celebrated
Organ music is so very underappreciated now. I count myself very blessed to have grown up hearing organ music like this. Thank you.

This piece sounds wonderful on a pipe organ! Bravo!
BEST I've ever heard...
My father was an organist, so I have had a lifelong love and fascination with the pipe organ. I did not follow in his footsteps, though, and sadly he is gone now. So appreciate videos like this that capture the energy and skill required to master this majestic instrument. Bravo! And thank you!

Most people in England, France, and the Czech Republic at the very least, do not even believe in an afterlife. Most constitutions allow us to have that belief, except in Muslim countries. Why should we not express that ? Anyway, even if he was alive and had a computer , I am "sure" that Bach would prefer the performances of his music on the playlists on my Mir Popolos channel, even the ones on the xylophone ! Yes! My dad and I reveled in listening together, especially during the Christmas season. I wish it were available on disc, as the record is no more, and it was one of my favorites. I was determined in my teen years to master the Invention #14 in B-flat minor and will still occasionally crank up the sound on my friend’s big electric piano (organ voice) and Rock The House. Wow, fifty years later I can only say the thrill is equal or greater than when I first heard these…perfectly structured, endlessly fascinating powerful and the most fun I’ve ever had listening to anything predating modern music. Johann is my Baroque Rock Star. I bless Wendy and Moog.

even so, my fav part is 5:01-5:23 the major chord resolve. I literally live to hear this section. oops, I repeated! the thing is, we Romanticize Bach today! I know I do. ROFL. I don't overdo it; however, we are performing on modern romantic instruments, we add a ton of tone color. etc. This performer likes to over emphasize the down beat, this beat Bach has already accentuated. I find it redundant to repeatedly draw our attention to this accent. This is his interpretation, I respect his point of view. The organ was very beautiful. I love it!
