I concur - though it was before the Momo announcement so there's just Su and Moa in the spotlight.

I'm just mesmerized by watching Su articulate each word as she sings. I often see people complementing her clear pronunciation and I concur. I love Japanese, but no matter which language she sings in, she makes it sound beautiful.

This is the same version we heard at "The One - Stairway To Living Legend " in 2021 when they went on hiatus sealing the group officially and thanking all of us, The One. This one is like a short version of that, hence the "Unfinished Version" title, so highly suggest you to watch that beautiful moment in the official YT place. We're so proud of Momoko, this is actually the second time she's in an official MV as MomoMetal, the first one was in Mirror Mirror a week ago.🍑❤️ Btw they did the same Unfinished Version for Akatsuki live at Legend 1997, it was the only time they performed that version, you can find a Widescreen version if you wanna enjoy it coz that's one of the only clips safe without being blocked. Monochrome is another beautiful stripped version, it was made before this one so you'll see a little changes, but just like with The One, i highly suggest you to check it out the original version first. First Take Monochrome next, please 😁

Did anyone else mentioned that Monochrome is even better? 😅 Pretty sure they did... 😂 There are many versions of this song, this one is the "Stairway to Living Legend", a pretty fearful one indeed😣, it's not a casual choice. The original MV was filmed during their ten shows at Budokan in 2021 and released in October, when they sealed the project, there was really no hint about the future of BABYMETAL, indeed the video itself sounds like a farewell and now we know, thanks to this year's interviews that the option was really on the table. Thankfully they choose otherwise. No wonder they picked this version to introduce officially Momoko as MOMOMETAL. Time to move on! 🤘🦊⚡

2:04 it almost looks like Su-metal got some extra smile because she heard Moametal and Momometal chime in, if true it's very wholesome/endearing.

Fans who have been to their concerts know that the costume looks ten times more beautiful on stage than in the MV. That's an amazing costume. So far no camera has captured the true beauty of that outfit.

I realized that the person who has a beautiful heart like you can understand beautiful things.

I've been saying to people for a couple of years that Su was on her way to being one of the GREAT vocalists of our time. This First Take channel (both this and the Monochrome take) has really allowed us to hear how good she is. There is some really good stuff on that channel. I've rather fallen under the spell of ATARASHII GAKKO! since seeing them on there.

The original live one is probably the best version... imo

Being that you are a singer...I would check out their latest release Metal Kingdom. Su's vocals will blow you away. Nice reaction!　　A video of the girls at the airport was recently posted on KZread. It is hard to make out their faces with the masks, but the woman, who is probably SUMETAL, looks like a little teenage girl, which surprised me. Her voice also still has the purity of a teenage girl.

Its probably because she has been singing for over half her life, and she has a very healthy technique when singing. You can clearly see she takes care of her voice a lot. Hard to imagine she's 25, because she looks and sound like a teenager, right?

great show Rachel-Metal, these ladies are all kinds of awesome and Su-Metal has been a powerhouse vocalist since she was a tiny kid, you mentioned stripped down versions, so we have a perfect example for you, "Akatsuki" the Unfinished version from Legend 1997 and be mesmerized by a 16 y/o Su at her birthday show and then for extreme contrast checkout "Akatsuki" live at Budokan, same song, completely different and beautiful at the same time.

The studio version of this song is pretty stripped back to begin with, even in terms of choreography, but the difference between the studio and first take versions of Monochrome is really striking

The First Take of Monochrome is something else. Then you should compare/contrast it with the album version that hits in a completely different way.

Excellent reaction! I hate that this version is so short. Especially since they were introducing Momometal. Now, Monochrome (piano version) on the First Take is a step way above. Queen Su goes off with the ever reliable Princess Moa providing wonderful backing vocals. You will LOVE it! Akatsuki (unfinished version) from the Legend 1997 show is another stripped down and beautiful piece. Our then 16 year old Queen coming to grips with the sacrifice she knows she must make to continue the fight for the Metal Resistance is crazy good. Whether she new it or not, it was her pathway to becoming a Metal Goddess. Tissues are recommended. I look forward to your next one!

monochrome has a one take

I didn't like The One First Take video as much as the Monochrome one. Su's singing was great, but it seemed to me that the backup vocals were either processed or else overlaid on top of a background track, or both. I could be wrong, since I'm an undereducated layperson when it comes to these things, but it sounded like that to me nonetheless. Plus for some reason, the women had a very heavy skin-smoothing video filter applied, which looked really odd.

Why not? Both songs are beautiful and if she thinks this is a great choice, then its fine. And, not to mention, that everybody has an own taste. I love this Song way much more, because its the first time Momo is in there and she harmonized great with Moa. But thats just me :)
