This was the hit that made them blew up all over internet back in 2014, and after so much buzz about it they reached Sonisphere Festival in the UK and all the way up from there. They recently added this song to be heard in the videogame Fortnite, you can find a clip about it if you want. The easiest indicator is the costume, they started wearing the ones with the chromatic plastic the first show Momo was an official member. They now have new costumes with chromatic skirts, also easily recognizable. The ones seen in this video were for the whole Avengers era from 2019 to 2023 (not sure if they changed some smaller details though).

Given the number of calories they must burn through during each concert, as well as all the rehearsals, I doubt eating some chocolate will cause an issue; they must be some of the physically fittest performers out there. During the avenger era, approx. 2019-2023, none of the 3 who filled the Yui role had microphones and just danced to restore the balance in the choreography. If you look closely on this version Momo has an ear piece but no microphone. She also gets a lot less screen time than Moa. Once she officially joined as a full member she started to sing Yui's parts. The original video for this was the first time I, and I guess most people in the west, saw BabyMetal when it went viral outside of Japan in 2014. It's probably worth checking the original video if only for this reason as it's an important chapter in BabyMetal's history and growth. The choreography is pretty much the same now as it was for the original but possibly works better when they were younger perhaps unsurprisingly as it was written for them when in their early/mid teens. I always link Gimme Chocolate with Ijime, Dame, Zettai which I first saw around the same time and which is also worth checking out.

🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 🍫 💝 According to Du-metal, who did unofficial translations for the songs on the first two BABYMETAL albums, "Zu(k)kyun" and "Do(k)kyun" are used to express the state of one's heart shot by something (e.g. the arrow of love). Su has confirmed in interviews, that the song is just about wanting chocolate, but being a little concerned about putting on weight. She has been very clear that it has nothing to do with eating disorders, or anything like that. On the other hand, they do have some songs that seem simple on the surface that have a lot more to them. They have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce. Not all at the same time of course. : ) This whole concept of combining JPop music with metal could have been a disaster, but the quality of the singing, songwriting, choreography and staging take it to another level. 'Gimme Chocolate!!' is definitely one of their "poppier" tracks. Even so, that blast beat gets you. And the whole thing is about 10x heavier live.

Once you dived deeper into the Fox Hole you should check another Japanese export band called One Ok Rock. I recommend mostly We Are or Take what you want from Japanese dome tour. You'll be flabbergasted, I'm sure ;)
