Excellent lecture on the history of Babylon archeology. The one caveat is the introductory remarks by the host from the museum are much too long at 8 min. They should have been edited to a minute or so, as most of it is typical museum spiel about the speakers academic and life accomplishments, praise of generous donors for aiding the project, etc.

This was very informative concerning the people & the ancient city of Babylon. For the longest time I've been looking for informaton about ancient Babylon outside of Christianity because they can tend to put a negative spin on this great city. If you have any more information about Babylon please help me out. The Jews were also in Babylon, this is where they developed Kabala Mysticism.....yet I cant find any information on this either. Thanks

I just found a few videos here on interviews with Dr. Daniel Mansfield from the University of South Wales speaking about the tablet 322 discovered in Iraq, and the trigonometry of the Babylonians. I hope this helps. I notice your comment was written 10 years ago, almost from antiquity already. Happy research findings to you.

MARDUK is another name for NIMROD(1st king of the world after the great cataclysm of Noah.) After the confusion of languages at the tower of Babel ? 70 different tribes went 70 different directions speaking 70 different languages. One of those names was Osiris another is Gilgamesh and even another name for the same man with many different names is Marduk

historians in their respective academic works mention those names if they deem it necessary... they are very well aware of ever changing names of cities (a tip for you: GO WITH THE TIMES! ...so people of today understand you -> that's the purpose of lectures like this). so only your narrow view is misleading yourself, nothing else.
