Since I'm new to your channel I just saw this video now it's fantastic seeing people breeding fish in tanks, with this the nature can be protected by the fisher that in the future well not have people to buy them, since several breeders around the world are doing this, the same with corals.

Congrats, Mark. That's a wonderful Christmas present for you. They are also one of my childhood dream fish. I finally was able to make it to the closest fish shop, over two hours away, to me and they said they almost never get them and have a waiting list for them and it could be years before my name would come up. So I will have to just keep watching you to get my fill one these little gems.

Mark you could also put the pair in a separate tank. That way the dad can take care of them. Also, what parameters are you breeding them in? I have rare L236’s I’m trying to get breeding.

Ph 6.5 temp 30c . A good thing to try is do a 50% water change replace cold water turn the temperature down three degrees and leave at that temp for a week. Feed heavily in that week and then at the end of the week turn the temperature back up to normal. This can kick start the breeding.

Great video, the plecos look fantastic well done 👏🏻👏🏻 never kept them myself but interesting all the same, How often do you have to change or clean the media in the filter please? Thanks for sharing 😀

you can buy an electric dehumidifier to stop the mold and humidity!

Merry christmas. Even though it's not a zebra pleco my bristlenose pleco laid eggs today.

Hi there mark just a quick one about breeding of the pleco iv watched the videos you have on the channel 👍🏻 good info on them iv set a breeding tank up same as you had for the long fins just a smallish tank for breeding iv got a mature male and mature female but still nothing at all I’ve owned the fish for about 6 month now and no eggs I been keeping eye on there activities daily but they don’t seem to want to get paired up... just wondering what temp you use for breeding tank etc.. any info to help get them started would be much appreciated.. ps love your channel watched a load of different videos on here and got to say well done 👍🏻 you know your stuff on fish mate

MARK'S AQUATICS just the Bristlenose albino.. deffo male ans female as male has spiked head and female no spikes at all 🙂 as I say iv watched your breeding video of the long fins Bristlenose pleco.. I went with a bare bottom take with a cave in etc but they just don’t want to lay eggs 😑

You can try the cold water change. Also black out the back and sides of the tank this will make it more private for them. Feed them hight protein food as well.

MARK'S AQUATICS okay mark I’ll give the cold water change a go today and up there food to some blood worms.. I supplement there diet with algae wafers and veggies blood work 2 times a week would it be wise to cut out the wafers and just carry on with veggies and more blood worms 🙂

P.S ....With so many now, I’d advise separating out some to other tanks in case there is ever an issue, than you’d have them no matter what, I’ve seen it happen so many times with this species on other channels and people I know, 😢It’s heart breaking.

Next time could you show us how you removed the eggs or are they just like cory eggs where you can just roll them lose with your fingers? Thanks for all the tips i would love to breed these one day and Royals

They stick the eggs together in a ball in the back of the cave. They're very easy to remove .

it's nice to sell them as pairs but they are brothers and sisters. don't you need new blood lines to breed healty ones?
