I got my ears pierced at the same age while wide awake. My parents said that I flinched at the noise, but never cried. Going into kindergarten I was a bit confused as to why no one else was born with holes in their ears for earrings!

@@Ssookawai I guess to you. I would never peirce my child's ears. My son or if I had a daughter. My mom made me get my ears priced when I was young; I hated having my ears peirced. A child should be old enough to decide if they want anything done to their body, even if th holes can close, they can sometimes leave a scar. They did for my husband.

I've always believed you should wait until a child is old enough to decide for themselves, whether or not they want their ears pierced. My mother waited until I saw my friend's pierced and told her how much I loved them, but I wasn't ready, I was scared! Finally decided to get done for my 8th birthday, it was before we headed back to school, the weekend before Labour Day. I'll never forget my friends noticing my ears/earrings! I was so proud and that memory of going with my sisters will stay in my heart forever... ❤ 💙 💜

I am the same way! I got my ears pierced when I was 8 and I was so read and loved them so much!! But every child is different my 13 year old sister still hasn't pierced her ears because she doesn't feel ready and doesn't really want them. I love it when parents let their children have the CHOICE to do it and its always such a treasured memory ❤

In some cultures this is a tradition. I'm half Mexican and my dad had mine pierced when I was a baby also. Babies already have to contend with getting pricked from shots when they're teeny and in most cases with baby boys circumcision which is extremely traumatic. It's not fun to watch, but remember not everyone thinks like you do and everyone's cultures should be respected. ❤

Its normal. Babies are easily startled, there are some cases that babies wakes up, startled, in a middle of sleep and its normal. Its called Moro reflex aka startle reflex and its normal and actually healthy for babies to have it, coz it shows their little nervous system is properly developing.

Sleeps, gets woken up by immediate pain, cries, sleeps again Damn that type of parenting is next level

Some tears, some screams, some sneezes and a some sleep 💕

This is fucking dangerous! My heart almost started to break when she woke up abruptly from severe pain. Her little heart could not stand it !!!

Them doing it while she was sleeping was wrong but a tiny hole in the ear is not an issue. If they get older and they don't like it, they don't need to wear earrings and the hole will probably close on it's own. If you feel this was about earring holes then do you also think boys should be the ones to decide if they get circumcised or not? People seem to have an issue with piercing a baby's ears but not circumcising a baby. Both are cosmetic and not necessary. One of those the baby can grow up and decide they don't like it and change it, the other one they can't.

@@nygxfmsp Actually, it's about safety and bodily autonomy. 1) Babies will grab and pull at piercings, leading to infection. 2) If you're going to force it anyway, DO NOT USE A PIERCING GUN. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL. Piercing guns are banned in some places for good reason. They are NOT sanitary and cause blunt force trauma to the tissue. Absolutely irresponsible.

I’ve let my daughter get her nose pierced and ears pierced in several areas. But only when she asked! It freaks me out that it’s deemed acceptable to cause pain and create holes in an infants ears. I know to some it doesn’t hurt that much. But some of my tattoos didn’t hurt but I wouldn’t go get my baby tattooed just because it looks cute.

Don’t understand why she needs to have her ears pierced at such a young age. They should be able to decide for themselves when they are older if they want holes in their ear lobes.

Parents to look at and admire. It’s for vanity reasons. Babies are beautiful so why the need to pierce their ears?

Americans in the comments being shocked by other cultures lol, I’m Guatemalan and had my ears pierced when I was a baby and so are most other Hispanic cultures. It’s not a big deal and I’m happy I got them back when I couldn’t remember the pain

Most Mexican baby girls don’t have that choice either. I got mine before 6 months and I’m glad... that way I didn’t have to get them as I got older and remember the pain.

Right? Everyone is saying how they don't remember the pain like it is some horrible traumatizing thing (but are willing to put that believed pain and trauma into their baby where it CAN be more traumatizing since they don't understand what is happening). A shot in the arm feels worse than a basic ear piercing. Grown kids and adults can handle it. They can make their own choice about it when they are old enough.

So that means because I made my child Therefore should be able to tattoo it and pierce whatever I want on it and don’t care about my kid. Loving the logic you seem have. Also actually I did because I like so many people have metal allergies. my ears got infected as fuck when my mom got them done when I was a baby.. (yet another reason to wait) and My mother had to take them out. I got them done when I was old enough and made it very clear I wanted them done. God respect your fucking children and if it’s that hard to do so maybe don’t have kids.

And now she's gonna have insomnia and /or nightmares for the rest of her life. Lol

That's not the point. You shouldn't be piercing a baby's ear period. She could have waited for the child to grow up and decide if they wanted them piercing instead of doing it for the parent's pleasure.

my gosh, people are overreacting. parents may choose to pierce a baby’s ears for cultural reasons. besides, vaccination injections are also painful for babies, but we don’t refrain on doing so. i had my ears pierced when i was 3 months old, and im literally fine. plus if the baby grows up and decides she doesn’t want piercings, she can just stop wearing earrings and wait for the holes to close.

I understand people’s concerns but with my experience, my ears also got pierced when I was that small and I’m really glad that happened because I love earrings but I’m TERRIFIED of needles and stuff so I never could have gotten the courage to do it now. Plus, you don’t even Remember it and babies heal much faster so it would’ve stopped hurting pretty quick.

Getting your ears pierced like this takes so much longer to heal than having it done professionally with real piercing hollow needles. And MUCH LESS painful. There's ALSO a reason that PROFESSIONAL piercers won't pierce babies. Professional.... I don't use that word lightly. Usually professional piercers, have lots of body modifications done, themselves. And most of them don't believe in "modifying" babies. I was COVERED in piercings at one point. Bridge, Septum, Nostril, labret, canine bites, double shark bites, nipples, belly button twice, clavicles, my tongue... I've been through so many piercings it's ridiculous. And I have two kids- a 2 and 4 year old. And I (the girl who had all these piercings) refuse to get my kids ears pierced like this. It's bad, so so bad. And I'm not one to follow people and their ways of raising kids these days. I'm old school with my parenting. Except for getting their ears pierced as babies at a place like Walmart or Claire's. I'll wait until a shop with professionals will do it.

I had a friend that was a baby girl and when she was five years old she said to me could we go to the shop and get them to take the things that in my ears because I didn’t give my parents permission to do it and I said yes I will take you and I asked her when she was 18, I said do you want to get it done again and she said no, because I remember what I went through as a baby getting them done. you see sometimes they want them taken out and when they are the age to ge them Done they don’t want to do it

Its mostly people who get their ears pierced 11+ especially of you are an adult. Look it up if you don't believe me.
