    This is such common sense advice! As an experienced mum and now grandmum, I love most of what is said here. Although I am an advocate for breastfeeding, my favourite quote from Cath is that a bottle of formula won't hurt your baby - "It's not rat sack!" lol

    formula has been shown to hurt babies quite a lot. it’s possible to make your own formula substitute that’s much healthier but parents aren’t aware of it, can’t be bothered, or simply don’t see anything beyond the marketing that ‘it’s good’ and ‘won’t hurt’

    Great information, thank you! I use the same approach as you describe and I have great results with it. My baby sleeps very well and I feel completely blessed 💕💕💕 You are absolutely right - It’s just common sense!

    Cath how do you keep a newborn warm in winter? It's quite cold in our room apart from getting a small heater and using the day you've suggested to wrap the baby what else can we do? We have been offered to use a cocoonababy too

    formula is real food. you try eating powdered diet or dehydrated food for a year, its strips it. i guaranty you wont do well. I only wish you could get liquid formula.

    Wow, some of what she said is completely different from what I've learned. You can definitely over feed a baby, especially with formula. Giving formula does effect your breastfeeding unless you're expressing while the baby is taking the bottle because you're missing a feed, which will eventually signal your body to make less milk. And you got to be brave to bath a newborn at 10pm, especially during cold weather. I know people raise their babies differently but this almost seems like wrong information.

    Why would you wrap a baby for breastfeeding? That does not make sense. Babies need their hands to feed well would you want to eat with your hands bound?

    Her recommended swaddle allows the infants arms you be up. Its comforting, like the womb, but still allows for movement. Its the opposite of disorienting.

    This video just confused me. Not a great video for educational purposes. I will not be giving my child formula I just sneak a few pumping sessions in when my newborn is asleep or playing AND my toddler is happy. My husband then feeds my newborn just before bed 4 ounces and she is OUT!!! You can give formula mommas but it is not always necessary..

    Formula is not poison. It exists for a reason. It is normal. Just cuz u decide to use breastmilk it doesn't mean that others can't use formula .

  • @littlemecarmie

    @littlemecarmie

    I didn’t say it was poison. I was just saying that you can pump alternatively if you want to give breast milk at night also. Then the dad can help out too. I was saying I wouldn’t give my baby formula at night because it WOULD damage my milk supply. I used a combination feed with my son as he needed extra calories so I am very much for formula if needed but I just felt this video was saying you should only give formula at night and not try to pump a bit more first. By all means if it’s not working for you then give formula.

    Team Queen’ s Fearn Tucker and Bentley Forever no come on now. I mean there is no need to give baby formula if you have milk. You can just pump and give baby with bottle. But she was suggesting to use formula specifically. Obviously if you feed formula there is nothing wrong with that.
