My daughter and her fiancé took my grandson (he was 15 months old) to a petting zoo a couple months ago. It was his first time at this particular place, and his daddy held the rosy boa, and let him pet her. All was well, until he started crying. That’s when they saw his finger dripping blood. We think he probably squeezed her. In 9 years, she’d never bitten anyone. He was fine, she was fine, but the poor girl who was showing her off wasn’t fine. Poor girl kept apologizing. She decided no other little kids could touch the boa..😔 After the bleeding stopped, it looked like 2 little scratches on his finger tip. Not nearly as deep as having a finger poked for a blood test. That area just bleeds easily. My daughter is terrified that people will judge her parenting, and they might…but it’s not like he had access to a rattlesnake. This might make him wary, if he does find a snake. That’s good, considering he isn’t afraid of anything. 😆

Fingers crossed for the chubby baby!!! ❤They're SO cute! (I'm always shocked at how large newborn livebearer snakes are haha. Like those poor moms.) I'm contemplating becoming a rosy boa breeder too someday (because there doesn't seem to be any here in Canada) and it's nice to see that brumation might not be necessary.

Yes! He is doing great!! He is very small but a voracious eater and super sweet.

Just got a rosy for my birthday he’s great now he is 6 months old getting bigger and more friendly I love him ❤/ Tony the rosy
