Believe they are attempting to train it to stay on scale for a decent period, thus making it easier to weigh them when they are adults without need to drag them back on when initially placed on it. Once they learn they are allowed to leave the scale after keeper tells them to, makes future check ups easier.

​@@javiarcamaro7178 They have to train him to stay on the scale. It's easy for them to push him back on it now. He's a baby. Imagine how much more difficult it'll be when he's fully grown. So it's better to get him used to standing still on the scale for a few extra minutes of discomfort, so when he's older they can still weigh him. Prometheus gave us forethought.

That penguin is so adorable. It whined a few times for being stopped. Eventually, it learned to stand there patiently so adorable and all. I don't know why it took so long to record their weight.

Someone suggested they're actually training him so that he knows not to get off the scale when he gets older, because a fully grown penguin weighs way more and will be harder to handle, I think that made sense

Yup before they get a lot bigger and more dangerous. Plus it's a lot less scary if they do need help but everything happening to help is familiar and not new and also scary.
