I have just recently discovered your foundation on you tube and it is so refreshing to see monkeys being treated with respect. I have been nauseated by those videos where abusive people dress macaques in nappies, clothes and even shoes. They continuously wash them lathering up soap into their eyes and they cause their monkeys to fight each other and get them screeching and screaming at each other and for milk, and it's all to get money from viewers of videos. It is sickening that many people can't see that this is abuse and plead for information about how can they get a baby monkey "to love and care for" as well. Coming across your foundation was in such contrast to all that and I was struck by how peaceful life is for your monkeys at the foundation. It is a pleasure to watch your videos and to see how gentle and caring all your staff are. Apparently Facebook do not respond to complaints about the abusive videos so I have been doing my best to re-educate people by going on these sites and telling them about the VMF. If I could volunteer I would, but I live in Australia. Thank you for caring so much for these very worthy animals. I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and so appreciate these animals even more. I miss my life in East Africa where I was exposed to the wild life frequently. It was a privilege growing up in such a lovely place but it was the animals that made it so special.

These little monkey orphans have experienced so much pain, both mental and physical... How wonderful it is that through the love and care and endless patience of the caretakers at the Foundation, all their wounds could be healed. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this process in the outside world through these great videos. This is good for our souls.

Another superb video, they are really doing so well. It’s great to see the different dynamics play out and the different hierarchy nuances. I would say great to have got a little girl, amongst all the boys but that would imply I was happy to see new monkeys at the VMF which I’m not. At least those who reach the VMF have a second chance at life, and as seen today, they do adjust and form loving bonds with the mothers who take their roles very seriously. Hopefully little Zeb will learn to love the mums too. Have a great week and thank you for all your hard work. As you move into the end of summer early autumn weather you have a huge task ahead of you to get them all acclimated to troop life in their enclosures.

@@VervetMonkey I’d wager they sense such things.❤ Considering how so much of their communication is non-verbal, and how much they protect the babies in their troop while being very alert for danger, it seems (to myself, anyway) that they’d be predisposed to being highly attuned to the body language, facial expressions, etc of other monkeys. Their inherent drive to keep an orderly, safe troop might also have a part. That’s the basic explanation for people who are “all” science, anyway. I think it’s an underestimation of how intelligent, loving, and sympathetic these wonderful beings are. 😉

I also hate these channels where monkeys are abused but it is amazing how many people can't see how wrong they are and can't see it's only for money and these cute babies will be dumped when they mature Iam often attacked when I try to explain that dressing them up putting them in dipers making them walk bipedal is abuse it is good to know others can see the abuse in these vidios

@@josiehumble5907 Thank you so much, Josie. Once her little face appeared on the shirts I became emotionally connected tp her story. She, of course, is not the first: there were Gimli and Merlin and Vera and Phyllis with Meggie--too many to list. What you folks do is so amazing--not just babysitting some animals. You're so engaged and so caring--and so clever. Such problems as you folks address! And solve! Bless you, all of you.

Oh please. How many times do stupid uneducated people need to be told that baby monkeys do not make good pets and that they need to be living in the wild with their own kind. These babies here are not toys. They have been orphaned and come here where they receive the most amazing care from dedicated people who are giving them the chance at rehabilitation and a second chance of life. Monkeys are not play things and should not be domesticated just because someone thinks they are cute.
