@@skinnyu01 YES. Honestly I think that's what's behind that effect. Prior to the internet, we just had to rely upon our faulty CHILD memory. Also, very popular parodies that come later (still pre-internet) get mixed up with reality in our memories. SNL has been a big part of that happening. People really think Sara Palin said that she could see Russia from her house, for instance, when that was Tina Fey and Palin said that Russia was "right there" next to Alaska (equally stupid). Imagine being a kid seeing that. Lol. I believe the Mandala effect is a cultural/technological phenomenon. And you didn't ask me any of that, I know. Lol

I am blown away that I have never heard/seen this until today. I was a sophomore in high school, yipes!

“Baby I am back!” I loved this show I watched the reruns every night on BET in the late 80s early 90s with my grandma. I guess I was too young to notice that the show was based in DC just like 227 and it looks like they lived in the same row homes. Hellen Martin went from Luella to Pearl Shea on the same set 🥰 thanks for posting!

I have seen several comments referring to Ms. Martin as old as ..., I guess it is intended to be funny, but it is not. It is absolutely disrespectful. How can we expect others to respect us when we do not respect ourselves? What a blessing that she was able to work that long. As other cultures honor their elders, we do not.must do the same and better.

I use to love watching this show when I was 11 years old back in 78...what a time it was...

Kim Fields was a natural great actress even then at that age. I wish her and Gary Coleman could have teamed up for a sitcom together during that time period Would have been awesome!!

I used to crack up every time the theme music would change when Helen Martin would come out of the door. 🤣🤣

Demond Wilson was just fresh of my all time favorite show Sanford and Son when I first saw this ok of a series. It should have been given another season.

I remember this show. Was shorted lived. I haven't seen it in years, waiting for it to surface !! Thanks for posting!! ❤️😊. Loved the show, Demond was so funny.😊. Never gained the status as Sandford and Son.

Sanford and Son went off in 77. It was briefly replaced with The Sanford Arms which starred neither Demond Wilson or Redd Foxx. This was Wilson's followup to Sanford and Son.

🗣🎤 I remember this show. Denise Nicholas was "that girl" back then. I was a kid when I heard my parents talking about her sister was found murdered.

Yes, that was sad about Ms. Nicholas' sister. An episode of In The Heat of the Night was dedicated to her sister. She talked about it after the taping of that episode in which she portrayed a character who lost her sister. She fought to bring justice for her sister and due consequences to the murderer.

This is show is hilarious. I just googled it, discovered it was only on for one season. I can't imagine why it didn't run longer? This is the first I've actually watch it but I remember seeing it briefly on TV growing up.

Demond Wilson was hilarious

The actor playing the divorce attorney was also on an episode of Good Times. He played the homeless guy staying in the abandoned building that Florida, Penny, Kim Fields and another kid ducked into after the school bus Florida was driving got stuck in the blizzard.

I was 8 years old and this was one of my absolute favorite tv shows! Thank you for the memories!😁✊🏿✌🏿

Regardless of the twisted plot, this was actually pretty funny. Thanx for the upload. Now I wanna watch the entire show.

You are right. Here lay the stereotypical roles for Blacks and positive characters for Whites. It is a disrespect to the image of the Black family, but I am glad we had someone to pave the road for us.

It wasnt on long, but when BET reran it, you'd think it was on longer.

Check out Helen Martin in The Phenix City Story (1955). This was a small dramatic part that she played. She and James Edward's played a black married couple who are pivotal to the story. I was very surprised to see her in it because I was so used to seeing her in comedies in the 1970s-1990's when she was older. My comedic old school idols are her, LaWanda Page, and Moms Mabley. Don't mess with them!

Never ever heard of this i have seen every episode of Sandford and Son never saw Lamont in anything else Thanks a Million!

Kim Fields before Facts of Life! ☺️💕

I remember Sanford and Son. It was and still is one of the best comedies we have had. Redd Foxx was a comedic genius. His timing was spot on perfection, and the casting was also perfectly done. Grady was the nice friend, Lamont always the recipient of the famous line, "I'll give you five across your lips, DUMMY!", and Fred's nemesis Aunt Esther. Every other cast member was perfectly casted as well. Fred's sweet and caring lady-friend. I used to just sit and laugh for 25 minutes everytime it was on TV.

It was funny, its sad to know that the TV show had been canceled! That's life...

First time seeing this show in many years. Love this show!!

I've never seen or heard of this before. It's funny, during the opening credits I was thinking that that looked like the set of 227, and then Pearl popped out!

I enjoyed watching this show, Helen Martin is funny in everything she's in, and Kim Fields is so adorable, I really loved her when she did a few appearances on Good Times, those phrases she would say was too funny and cute on Good Times 😂❤❤

Binge watched every episode and this was very comedic and has some great messages, each actor did a great job. Thanx for the upload. Outstanding writing.
