yeah! duckling thinks that the gosling is his mom thats why he was under the gosling! LOL

That Chicken sure gets around

Naw poor little duckling is trying to get under the gosling for warmth (its possible that the duckling has imprinted on the gosling). They are both making happy sounds though ^_^v .

This is so adorable!!! I used to have a duckling that grew up with a gosling as well. They were the best of friends.

Hen was actually pretty calm when you messed with her. I always had the most broodiest on eggs. Would never peck me but man their disgruntled noises made me feel bad.

Babies sometimes need to be monitored or checked on to see if they are healthy. Sometimes it's how they can make sure the babies survive.

Helena Dawsøn I was thinking 🤔 the same thing “but I think people use Hens to hatch 🐣 an array of different types of those particular birds, I wish they would if left the littler one under the Hen for a bit longer it looked as if had just hatched 🐣 a couple of hours ago poor little fella” still adorable little ones ❤️😇💯‼️

@samuelwaynefoleyjr Yes it is. They were laying eggs but not sitting on them.. So I put one under the broody chicken.. A friend found the duck egg in his front yard in town and We put it under the chicken too..

you should have left them with the broody hen they would have been healther but i no what your thinking he would get to big to sit under her but i hatched gooslings with a bantan silkie and the gooslings turned out fine and there was 4 gooslings and 1 baby chick silkie it was funny watching the gooslings sitting on the silkie insteed of the silkie sitting on the gooslings and when a gossling stood up the silkie was on its back they all turned out fine and i live in quate a cold climate :)

cause they need to be raised to not be chickens. the mother would teach them how to be chickens so its probably good to seperate them

+Mike Ryan Because the chicken's owner wanted to spare her the anxiety at raising a baby duck and gosling, because ducks and geese like to take a plunge in some nearby pond or pool, chickens don't, my grandmother put duck eggs under chickens and the baby ducks swimming all happy and content while their momma hen is cackling, raising a ruckus and worried to death her babies may drown.

KimbayesStephenno95 We did the same when I was a kid. This is how we raised our food. We'd take the babies away from the mom so we can raise it since we could protect the babies better until they were fully grown

..hopefully if all goes well the geese and ducks will absorb my chickens awesome behavior...at least a little..and not mind being handled etc...yet still not get bullied by any foreign wildlife that may get near.
