It means the same in Caucasian families. Also, The white streak means intuition or prophecy. My aunt had very dark hair with a white/platinum streak in the middle . We thought it was pretty cool. That's because Cruella dates back to the 1960's and is known the world over thanks to Disney, The Dalmatians and every variation and incarnation of that character and that brand through parents and kids. Rogue debuted as a member of The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in 1981. She didn't get the spotlight until she inadvertently caused Storm to lose her powers and when she absorbed Danvers' psyche and power set. My point is, even after those events the only people who would even remotely know who she was would be hardcore Marvel heads throughout the decade. The 90's saw her appear in a couple of god awful cartoons and it wasn't until those horrendous movies in the early 2000's that she would finally gain more recognition to mainstream audiences. Cruella, by that same time, had the mystique and legacy of Disney and the force of that recognition for 40 years and a never ending army of little kids to carry the legacy of her remembrance and character. So, no, it's not crazy at all. Rogue is simply not more well known than Cruella De Vil. And honestly, it's weird that you think she should be.

Her family should research about “La Tongolele” an American vedette/dancer from Washington that became very famous in South America in the 1950’s. She had exactly the same beauty mark on her hair.
