I’m in this musical as the fortune teller at the center for the arts

I’m playing Kassim in my production of this show and I kinda feel like he has more personality in this scene than the entire rest of the play lmao. I kinda wanted to be Babkak because he gets the funniest lines, but I guess I’m happy with what I got

I'm auditioning next week. I was going to audition as the genie but the director told me to audition as jasmine so I guess I'm doing that instead now

My school is putting aladdin jr on our stage..i got casted as babkak and ofc me not knowing who he was i was dispointed but this made me happy and i think he will be a fun character to betray

I remember doing this for a school play! I was Omar and this was my favourite part in the whole thing :]

Playing Kassim lol, role is genuinely fun and this gave me a couple of ideas for execution

Oh no I'm sorry. Why do they hate you? I had to do scenes and sing duets with people I didn't like because they were not nice to me or because they were an ex-boyfriend but remember... it's ACTING. So you go to rehearsals with a professional attitude... do your scenes/numbers and that's it! Only worry about and care what you can bring to this character and you shine on that stage!

I play Babkak in the version my school is doing and the choreography for ours is so much more different.

Aw. Well first of all congrats on the role and show! I'm sure your choreographer will help you. Just keep practicing the moves. Learn the song as quickly as possible so that you can focus on the choreography. I'm sure you'll be fine 🙂 and don't forget to smile and just have fun! @@joyarzaga Just nine?! Last 2 years my school put on a 1 act play for my grade and we had a month to rehearse and it still flopped. They must be really good.

@@yeahright1020 Ya just 9! They did get their scripts like a couple of weeks before that 1st rehearsal and all had to be off-book by the 1st rehearsal. This was a youth summer group and so they rehearsed ALL day from 8:30am to 4:00pm but still 9 days is insane!

My school was doing this play around a few months ago but due to Covid 19 they had to put it on pause. I was super excited since this was the first opportunity I had to be in a play. I got the role as Babkak. I don't think I make a very good Babkak and the people who play Kassim and Omar at my school their roles fit them well. I'll try my best though. I'm hoping that they'll continue the play in November. Wish me luck guys!😁

Well congrats on getting the role and hopefully your school will get back to normal and you guys get to perform it! Don't sell yourself short... your director obviously believes that you are good enough to play the part which is why you were cast!! Believe in yourself and have fun with the character! And if you're unsure of how to deliver a line, ask your director! Most importantly is to have fun! And if you're not already friends with the others playing Omar, Aladdin and Kassim, get to be friends. Go and hang out all together and create that camaraderie and chemistry because that will absolutely translate on stage if you guys have a strong connection & chemistry!! It's a great song and you get to play the comic relief!! Fun!! Let me know how it goes and feel free if you have any questions! I'm a director too! I didn't direct this production but I have on my channel a few of my productions that I directed like Mamma Mia!! 😊

Aw! I get it. I've been doing theater since high school and I'm old now and I still get super nervous. The way to get over it is to KNOW your material and to practice it out loud. Then start doing to in front of people at home or in front of friends until it becomes second nature. You'll be great! and Break a leg!!

Sorry if you didn't get the role that you may have wanted but have fun being in the ensemble and be the best Beggar #1! There may be someone in the cast who didn't get any featured moment and would wish to be beggar #1. Make the best out of your experience with the show and always stay present in every scene - especially the ones where you're not featured. The ensemble is just as important as any of the lead roles. And most importantly just have fun! I wish you luck and enjoy!!

She probably looked awkward because the staging for that moment when Aladdin spins her is stupid. So she probably thought the same. She was a very good Jasmine actually. And these kids had only 9 rehearsals to put on this show which is quite impressive!!! Just 9 rehearsals! That's it!

Aw! Don't be scared. You'll gain more confidence as you rehearse and learn your material and then you'll be psyched and will have fun!! Make sure to have fun! And if you mess up... just smile and keep going!! Don't freak out! Just keep going! Good luck with show!!
