You're thinking of Armor Games' "This is the Only Level" series!

Baba is the most OP character • Has plot armor • Consistent • Independent • Brave • Cute (although you don't wanna hug him/her/it) • Can change into other characters (unless Baba is Baba, part of it being Consistent) • Can manipulate the whole Babaverse using statements

i saw another game like this area, about same length but same concept. 1 level, multiple routes that open up after completion. i dont remember what it was called, but it was on a GMTK game jam. its one of the tops that the narrator picked. ithink the theme was "just one"

That was incredible I still get amazed by this game in vanilla mode in every phase... can't imagine when I get to these awesome levels

Can you make that art in the base game?! Also I love that crab mechanic... I bet it could be worked into some more difficult levels.

the art is made with objects that are oversized compared to their regular sprite size. so 'custom sprites' is enough to make it. otherwise I'm pretty sure such art is practically impossible to make, unless you want the painful experience of trying to overlap existing objects to imitate the specific geometry of the art you wanna make

It'd probably be something like: CRAB and BLUECRAB is YOU idle CRAB is BLUECRAB idle BLUECRAB is CRAB CRAB is LOCKED (up) and LOCKED (down) BLUECRAB is LOCKED (left) and LOCKED (right) Idle activates when you press space (wait)

@@jerryfish9081 Note: 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 Color doesn't warrant an "and", an object is still that object no matter what color it is, though in order to diffrientiate (no idea if I spelled that correctly) crab from if it has a certain color or not you need to use "OBJECT Feeling COLOR Is..." or OBJECT Not Feeling COLOR IS..." ​​​@@theofficialwoohoogamersh just 2 separate objects that sounds less complicated, and the way you think it works is less efficient because it adds another rule that only exists BECAUSE of how it was done, the most normal way to do it would be to have 2 separate objects and use the same sprite for both, because, when an object transforms into another object, it's permanement unless a rule is triggered that turns it back.
