This market is an artisan's market, featuring mostly hand carved wood pieces. It is rather large and has a variety of shops to enjoy.
Located outside of Chiang Mai about 15 kilometers in the Hang Dong district, it is very much a must-see tourist destination. Hit hard after Covid, the market is slowly trying to regain its heyday.

Baan Tawai dates back over 70 years, and has its roots in the traditional Thai woodcarving community.
