    When I first swapped the engine, that was my initial thought. I was surprised myself the hood was able to close without any issues. The one thing I did notice is, sometimes your clutch cable can get caught on the valve cover, which in some cases can indent the hood upwards just an fyi.

    11:21 what changed from the one in japan - likely has to do with the positioning of all the other components there on the firewall. Pedals - brake booster - etc are not present on that side in japan. Its possible the frame rail geometry is flipped horizontally along with firewall components ALSO - instead of pounding your frame (giggity) im told you can rob a d-series alternator pulley and replace modify the b-series alternator with it (its smaller)

    Where you able to figure out what the bogging at higher rpms I have a b20 ef swap and it's doing the same thing when you mentioned the o2 sensors maybe that might be it I wound

  • @Tycrx89

    2 жыл бұрын

    It deff could be your O2 sensor. But also check your ignition timing, that could cause bogging as well. My issue was deff the O2 sensors causing the motor to bog at higher rpm’s. My Solution was converting from 0bd0 to obd1. What this did was I was able to purchase a chipped and tuned ecu that actually got rid of the O2 sensors all together. I’m runnng a specific B16a base map now. By doing this i eliminated any problems I was having before with fuel air ratio mixtures. Hope this helps. I’m going to make a separate video going into detail alittle more soon.

    Yeah obd0 is old school.in my opinion obd0 is only if you wanna get car running and selling it asap letting someone else deal with it or daily it..but in general if you threw in a b16 ina ef you might as well go obd1 just because its not anymore complicated or costly.you can find a good deal on a used p06 p28 for cheap .and just wire the obd1 stuff up

    So I have a B16a2 with obd1 swap coming soon and it's a stock motor, I won't be doing any modifications on it. I'm running a D16a6 obd0 atm and I'm wondering if I HAVE to do a OBD conversion? If I still keep my obd0 what will I have to do to make it work?

  • @Tycrx89

    @Tycrx89

    2 жыл бұрын

    You will use your original d16a6 obd0 harness on the B16a motor. You will have to run an obd0 b16 vtec distributor as well as an obd0 b16a ecu which would either be a Pw0 or a pr3. You would then have to wire up vtec and a few other sensors as well. You’re also going to have to change your fuel injectors to obd0 as well but you can use your stock d16a6 injectors on the b16 and it would work perfectly fine. My suggestion to you from experience is to convert to obd1 you’ll be much happier. Hope this helps
