B13 SENTRA SE-R: COIL ON PLUG CONVERSION PART 4

Finally, four parts later its alive. Thanks again guys for watching the series. It was definitely trial and error but with enough know how and some research its nothing you guys cant do at home.
Thanks again to Boost_n_co, John Kerr @JKTUNING for the Nismotronic ECU and Lance down in FLA.

Solid video series. In the middle of an xtrail VET swap into a 93NX, keeping the COP setup w/ AEM series 2 EMS. You hit the nail on the head with wiring, double and triple checking everything. Even crimps and solder points, especially with how little movement and flexibility you have with the wiring around the ECU connector.

I'm sorry, did I just hear that you changed the valve covers just to make the ignition coils work? Dude, use QQR25 ignition coil boots for like $8 at your local parts store. They've been selling just the boots for a while.

I sure did and the car has been running great for as long as its been as is. I have 3 sets of 20V coil packs so i dont need to buy boots any longer. But thanks for the info as it can help someone else out.

Hi Juan - I've got a 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R that I'm considering re-doing but I'd like to take a look at yours before give the go ahead for the engine swap and paint work. Any chance I could come by and take a look at your Sentra? I'm in Woodland Hills, CA. Thanks in advance.

Well talking about electrical. My tachometer and odometers don’t work on my gauge cluster. Speedo is fine and the trash basically just jumps around. Odometer doesn’t work at all. It’s a 96 g20. Any ideas what I can do. Gauge clusters on eBay are free and it seems like this problem is a bit common.

  • @blipshiftapex9047

This is a common issue, the easiest fix is replacing the tach from another cluster and swapping the odometer as well.

Do you know if a version of Sentra SE R 1991 with Ga16 motor, without spoiler and without Sunroof was launched? Or instead a "Tsuru" ga16 with just 2 doors... because my car has the same Se r body, without the sr20 and spoiler and sunroof...

There is no such thing as a ga16 se-r or gsr2000 as they are called in Mexico. The Gxe 2 door is quite common. And the base 2 door E model with nothing including no radio is also out there. Only the se-r and gsr2000 came with an SR20.
