I have never seen Buakaw show another fighter this kind of respect, and almost fear lol.. its super crazy to see.. you will rarely if ever see Buakaw give up the center of the ring, and not be the aggressor.. it was very obvious he respected what Jean Charles could do, a great fight to watch. and for those who don't know.. the reason they "touched gloves again for some reason" was a sign of mutual respect.. jean charles caught him with a good liver kick, and buakaw clipped him with a good headkick, neither of them really phased tho.. so they both said "good shit man" and carried on.

it is rare that Buakaw leaves the center of the ring to his opponent. A lot of work with the farang, for Buakaw it must make him happy to have an opponent of this level. Too bad that Skarbowsky was no longer young and in better physical condition. He set his pace and Buakaw understood. They did their jobs and the important thing is payroll. Yes, it's their jobs.

Us Thai denominated Jean Charles Skarbowsky "Perfume of death" (Num Hom Morana) because we call France as perfume land due to very long history of perfume imports. He maybe the second Nak Muay Farang whom us Thai actually admit and respect after Ramon Dekkers, all others are bogus to us. You can see how Buakaw was cautious and being careful in this fight in contrast to when he was fighting other farangs. He knew well he might lose if reckless. This match is one "chess" of Muay Thai. Too bad he drinks nowadays.

Absolutely love the slow-mo exchange at 17:04. Skarbowsky reads Buakaw's mid-kick, shifts his center of gravity slightly, pushes the kick to the side and comes back with an insanely fast, painful looking mid kick that I'm pretty sure catches Buakaw just behind the bicep. Buakaw immediately comes back with one of the most ridiculous kicks I've ever seen. From what I can tell (I'm watching the slow-mo replay at 0.25 speed and I'm STILL struggling to see the kick properly) Buakaw telegraphs another mid-kick that Skarbowsky nonchalantly goes to block, before changing the arc of his kick HALFWAY INTO THE KICK HE JUST LAUNCHED, shooting his leg up around Skarbowsky's block to land cleanly on his dome. What makes the kick even more insane is the fact that the second half of his kick is EVEN FASTER than the first half. The camera literally can't catch the majority of the second half of the kick because its faster than the camera's framerate.

The points in the end didn't really reflect on the commentary. It almost seemed like a one sided fight. Both men were playing a game of chess, truly an honor to watch them perform. I've rarely seen Bukaw this humble, especially against a western fighter. Mute the commentary put some nice Thai fight music on and watch the fight.

Great fight - incredible skill displayed by both fighters. Poor announcing though. One announcer is painfully clueless and the other knowledgeable, but they both did their best to make the fight seem much more one sided than it actually was. The right man, Buakaw, won, but please give Skarbowsky the credit he deserves - he fought an amazing fight, but lost to a legendary fighter in Buakaw. Get some announcers who both know what they are talking about and who don't actively trie to take the wind out of the fight for the viewers. Would be nice.

I saw him doing work on the experienced MMA talent on an older Ultimate Fighter season with GSP. So just had to see if he went up against big competition in true Muay Thai, lo and behold Jean-Charles Skarbowsky went up against one of the best to ever do it. Wow! I mean Buakaw clearly looks more beautiful in technique (of course like all Thai's who've been born and bred to do it since they were kids - almost making all Thai practitioners child-prodigies) and outclassed him, but Jean showed he is a true master of the rhythm, technique, and nature of the game. His composure, poker face, and solid, solid base and doesn't back down with proper closing off of angles or opportunities (nearly impossible to do correctly for foreigners against a real thai, especially at this high a level of competition). Jean may not have been born in Thailand and grown in a stable like his opposition but he definitely lived over there for over a decade or 2 with some serious talent to hang in there like a legit Thai fighter.
