For 30 years, the Maryland National Guard Freestate ChalleNGe Academy has been shaping the future of our state's youth. The ChalleNGe Academy is a life-transforming experience designed to provide an opportunity for at-risk youth to redirect their lives and achieve success. It is a rigorous, structured program that combines academic education, physical fitness training, and personal development to help young individuals overcome their challenges and become responsible, productive citizens.
Through a military-style environment, these young men and women learn the importance of self-discipline, respect, teamwork, and perseverance.
While participants work towards earning their high school diploma or GED, they also receive vocational training, develop life skills, and receive guidance in making positive life choices. They are taught financial literacy, job interview skills, and problem-solving techniques, equipping them with the tools necessary for success in the real-world.
