In 1968, I took my High School Sweetheart to see Romeo and Juliet. I still remember how tightly she squeezed my hand during this song. It was a wonderful date with the girl I loved. We went to Missouri University together. Unfortunately, our junior year, she fell in love with another boy. I was devastated. They were to be married only a year later. The morning of her wedding, my mother called me at Missouri to say that, a few days before her wedding, her fiancé had called off the wedding and dumped her. My mom said my ex was devastated. For a brief moment, I thought we might reconnect. Then I realized what a foolish idea that was. We had both moved on. Two years later, she calls to just say hello. I had no desire to speak with her. When I tried to end the call, she interrupted me and asked me to accompany her to Midnight Mass. I was dumbfounded and went silent. She asked again. And again. Finally, I agreed. When I saw her and her beautiful smile, I realized I was still in love with her after all this time. Two years later, we were married. 42 wonderful years together. One fantastic son. Every time I hear this beautiful song, I remember that day she held my hand so tightly. God, how I miss her.

What a voice ! How wonderful music !

This is one of my mother's favorite, and Ms.Padilla's rendition is one of the best I've ever heard. My mother passed away last year and listening to this music brings back many happy memories of my mother. Thank you Ms. Barbara Padilla, bravo, well done!

These are two songs, the first is "A time for us" from Romeo y Julieta and the other is "Addio del Passato" from the opera La Traviata of Giuseppe Verdi, interspersed again and again, recursively. Both are beautiful. Very well done by Bárbara Padilla and of course by the orchestra.
