Brilliant remastered concert
One of the most original American bands of all time. Loved them in middle school ‘83. Still gives me goose bumps. 💣 B-52s 🎉
What's still amazing is that in 2024 I can put on Wild Planet and the whole mood in the room changes to one of happiness and fun.
I hated this song back then because they were neither AC/DC nor Van Halen nor Iron Maiden. I was a small minded fool!

And I loved punk/new wave, and therefore foolishly overlooked bands like AC/DC. Live and learn. I was at this concert, and the B-52's were there best group outside of The Talking Heads that day and night (IMO).

My favorite band is Priest, love The 52s.
Monstrous vocal parts from the ladies and Fred. Everyone without exception dances to Rock Lobster, it’s almost a religion.
Cruising the boulevard with my friends, blasting this at the stoplight. People would be looking like What the Hell is THAT! Us laughing. Good times.
Ricky always played with such intensity….. rip
I remember when this hit the airwaves in 79 ... you couldn't help but stop and do a double take. Then ask yourself "wtf did i just hear?" It was like music from another planet. So unlike everything b4 it, so unique. Wasn't everyone's cup o tea initially, but it absolutely got your attention.

Brillaint write up - Great
This performance set the mood for the entire weekend. Lots of fun even though it was 114 degrees during the day. Dangerously hot. Don't know how the performers could stand it. Place went wild for this set. then came The Talking Heads and the Police. 21 years old and still remember so much about that weekend.
They were so innovative. The songs were fun, but no one else sounded like the B-52s! What a great band, even after all this time. My wife and I saw them in Vegas last year. They sounded great. It was a very short set. But fantastic. They still sound amazing.

All the synth and drum machines, music in the 80s for the most part really sucked.
We had the best dance party music in the early 80s.

I think we had the best music back then, the live music scene was excellent I used to go out nearly every night of the week and see live music in one pub or club somewhere reasonably local. There was an environment where musicians, groups could perfect their performance create their unique styles etc, for me it seemed like a 60’s part 2, unfortunately now most pubs & clubs are shut down, youth of today( our kids) will never have that, so fucking sad!. ✌🏽

@@user-xh8ii2hj6rYou just reminded me. I saw them live for free at lunch around 1978 while at UC Berkeley. Same for the Talking Heads. Both bands were still building an audience at that time.

I was a teenage metal head, but I always loved this song.
Our band covered several B52's songs. This one always brought the house down.
Just what a band..fab
The B52's are timeless unlike the stuff made today that fades away a month later. This song always gets the dance floor moving!!
Energetic fun.

😂...they rock *lobster.... This is one of the greatest songs of the 20th century. I'm pushing 60yo, couldn't stand this kind of music in my teens. The punk rockers stood out in those days. One day in 10th grade geometry class (held in a portable at one end of the parking lot- a guy smashed into it when the throttle stuck in his Olds Cutlass! We could hear it when he floored it and kept on coming. The students on the opposite side of the classroom finally turned around to look out the window. I remember at least one kid leap like superman trying to avoid getting hit. The portable was struck while he was in mid air. No one was even scratched. After a moment or two our teacher says "guys our portable was just struck by a car" and the kids "no duh, really?" You had to be there....anyway, a couple guys were discussing which live show they would go see, the Kinks or the B-52's. Some of us would swap vinyl records with each other occasionally, things were WAY different. (My '80/'81 sophomore year), no mtv, no internet, no mobile phones... ....my friends went to see the Rolling Stones (steel wheels tour?) in '82 and jokingly called them the Rolling Bones back then! They were a 15yo band already! Take care people. Much love. GW

The B-52s are still not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 😮
Now I feel even luckier to have been in college at Lock Haven State College (which looked a lot like "Faber College") during the late 70's punk explosion and early 80's music scene that included so many innovative and just plain fun bands like the B52's. Living in a frat house when Animal House came out.
Even john lennon liked this song !
love the goofy dancing
Fred Schneider looks like he robbed Danny Elfman's wardrobe!
we need more cowbells~!

Make sure you get your opinion in there, and for sure stamp it with American flags and a victory sign, so that you can virtue signal your masculinity, patriotism, and sheer force. Because of course in this age, you shouldn't be able to comment on music, movies, food, holy fuck, ANYTHING, without also showing everyone exactly where You stand.

@michaelpukish748 I see why you're called pukish. You make people want to puke. That's a peace sign, Michelle. I see plenty of comments like mine, so it's a consensus that this song, and song is pretty far-fetched, pretty much sucks. I hope you have plenty of tissue to wipe up those tears. Well, this has been an educational experience and was fun and all, but I'm gonna have to end this therapy session for you. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and try to drink plenty of fluids. You'll get dehydrated quickly from the state that you're in. 🇺🇲✌️🇺🇲
