B-18715: China Airlines' Unluckiest 747 Freighter?

Ойын-сауық

Two diversions and one dramatic ground incident: Three events that unfortunately happened to a single Boeing 747-400F within the span of a month and a half, between mid-January and late February. For the last two months, a China Airlines jumbo jet registered B-18715, has remained on the ground- demonstrating that 2022 has not been a good year for this particular aircraft…

I’ve been in aviation for almost 40 years, US Navy, GA, and Commercial. I’ve often seen planes that were “snake bitten”. For what ever reason the aviation gods had decided that particular plane would be cursed with bad luck.

Taxied a B747-400 and even a B707-320 (1980's!!) around Chicago many times. A world class professionally run airport. In the winter it frequently has a lot of ice and snow. Professional pilots accordingly taxi with particular regard to power/speed/ inertia. Maintaining the well defined centre lines and taxiway should be no problem to a professional pilot even in an "unlucky " aircraft. Oh....you mean a aircraft unlucky enough to have a dangerous muppet at its controls. ?

B-18715, very well known as the "unlucky jumbo". Being honest, I feel really bad for the jumbo despite CAL Cargo have more. It's quite sad that it's in an inactivity. Hope it will be back on air in few improvements. Before you ask, yes. It's just a plane. But when it comes a plane which has this problem or gone through an accident or incident. It's just sad that passengers have to go through like this, and so does the aircraft. Btw, what about the baggage truck carrier? Hope it doesn't have any passengers' luggages otherwise there will be angry people at the airport. Fly on, B-18715 ♥️✈️

@@daftvader4218 Nothing wrong was with the plane. It was the carelessness from O'Hare and a little from the crew themselves. O'Hare never came to clean up or de-ice the snow until this incident happened. And crew' speed were a lot than taxing normally causing B-18715 slide to the baggages. But I think the blame should go to O'Hare Airport.

Taiwan better figure out a way to be reunified peacefully before mainline China decides to take it back forcefully.
