Thanks for uploading the video. Makes the process for creating AVD environments much easier. Can you tell me if there is a way in the provisioning to change the the storage account type. This creates a standard storage account by default. Is there a way of changing it to a premium storage account for the profiles to be stored on?

For the FSLogix Profile containers? It's not possible during initial provisioning if you're using the wizard-based approach. You can manually set up storage and Azure Files or Azure NetApp Files.

It is amazing how such a simple thing can be soo complicated. I did everything you showed. Twice it failed because of Quota for Compute. Got over that. The test account works. But when I try to login with my own business email (Azure admin) I cannot. First, it didn't show me the Session Desktop at all in the app, after I've added some permissions I had to search Google for - it did show, but now it says:Sign in Failed. Please check your username and password and try again:" How do I just give my employee a permission to use it? How do I make him a local admin? How do I, as admin, connect to this AVD.... Please help

Thank you for the amazing video. Its very helpful and I followed the steps to the end. When I use the url, it shows me the SessionDesktop icon, but on login, remote desktop window opens up with a black screen and then auto closes with error: 0x3000018. Under the VM > Connect, it also says Port prerequisite not met and IP address prerequisite not met. Can I please get some help on this issue? - thanks in advance

You can use Azure AD join with the VMs for SSO. The only reason we didn't use it for this demo (and using the guided quickstart) was because FSLogix profiles currently require AD or ADDS.

We're going to cover app installation on a future episode. For user dedicated VMs, depending on your account type and elevation requirements of the app, you can self install individual apps. For shared multi-session VMs, this would normally need to be part of the admin process to set up the VM centrally in the host pool. There are a few options in this scenario as well, including MSIX app attach.

So how is MS planning to adress the lag in the video on Teams when using VDI?

AV Redirect and Multimedia Redirect helps solve for this by sending the video feed more directly between endpoints and reducing the number of encoding and decoding steps that would normally happen in the chain.

With AVD, can users who login the the VMs connect and automatically authenticate to an on-prem fileshare?

Yes, this can work either using VPN like any remote PC, or you can connect the server to Azure, then route the traffic over the Azure network connection. There's also an Azure File sync option similar to OneDrive, so that the files on the file share syncs files to Azure and you can have the VMs read/write via Azure and local domain clients still read/write to the local server.

A shame this does not work with MFA enabled on the admin account.

In my AVD tenant, if i add b2b users as AVD users, will the E3 licenses of b2b users be applied here in my AVD tenant? I don't have licenses in AVD tenant.

Yes, we're working on adding this as part of the next one. Short answer is that for pooled hosts you would use Availability Zones, and intentionally overprovision them so that for example, if 1 of 3 zones goes down, the remaining 2 zones will have the capacity and can accept the traffic from the unavailable zone. For personal/dedicated VMs, you would create replicas for those requiring HA and use Azure Site Recovery to failover to them. These are similar approaches for how you would set up stateless and stateful server VMs running apps for BCDR.

Thanks for your question! Intune support for user and device scope for Windows 11 multi-session is available today! For Windows 10 multi-session, device scope is generally available and user scope will be coming later this year.

Yes, both are supported.

This setup only works when using AD or Azure AD DS as IDPs. If you only want to use AAD as your IDP, quick setup is not an option.

Is there a way to do this in a test Azure instance instead of my corporate Azure instance? We already have an existing Azure AD but I don't have the access needed to experiment with Azure VD. I would like to experiment before I start lobbying for an instance in our institution. Thanks!

Currently, FSLogix profile containers require AD. You can also configure without profile containers using Azure AD join and no local AD or ADDS
