is there anything on the roadmap so that FSLogix (or similar functionality) can be used without requiring AD and just with Azure AD only?

Yes, we actually covered this briefly in the video. It's possible to use FSL now without the AD and second sign on. check out the new guidance at aka.ms/fslogix

This is wrong depiction of Availability Zones. Availability zones are not separated across states, they are close to each other and just have different power/internet etc connectivity.

That's correct. The graphic is illustrative; the pinpoints would all go to the same spot on the map in an AZ.
