Good to hear that Azerbaijan is committed to the well-being of its Armenian population within the Karabakh region. Unfortunately, many Armenians do not feel safe and are heading towards Armenia proper. Perhaps in time, with the restoration of the churches, they’ll return. In appropriate areas, perhaps Azerbaijan can also include dual-language signage like the Kirkuk region of Iraq has done by recently including Turkoman along with Arabic, Kurdish and Syriac languages. Anything for peaceful coexistence.

@@Saad_889 Two wrongs don’t make a right and revenge just becomes an endless cycle. Peace through coexistence of all ethnicities within Azerbaijan. Karabakh is a legitimate part of Azerbaijan which it was denied for 30 years. However, there’s no reason for Armenians and Azeris not to coexist within Karabakh. Reasonable people do not want endless wars or frozen conflicts.

It doesn’t mean it should be a part of Armenia or an independent nation. Armenians in Karabakh should continue to live there in peace and safety.

Georgians have been in the Caucasus from the beginning, armenians came later and converted to Christianity in the 4th century (see: Saint Gregory the Illuminator, patron saint of Armenia), islam had *not even come into existence* back then. I have no links pinpointing the exact time these bloody bandits showed up in the Caucasus since bandits by nature frequently conducted raids into neighbouring lands but my guess is they showed up en mass as the mongols swept through Central Asia, ie. at least 9 CENTURIES LATER.

RESOLUTION 822 (1993) Adopted by the Security Council at its 3205th meeting, on 30 April 1993 Demands the immediate cessation of all hostilities and hostile acts with a view to establishing a durable cease-fire, as well as immediate withdrawal of all occupying forces from the Kelbadjar district and other recently occupied areas of Azerbaijan; RESOLUTION 853 (1993) Adopted by the Security Council at its 3259th meeting, on 29 July 1993 Condemns the seizure of the district of Agdam and of all other recently occupied areas of the Azerbaijani Republic; Further condemns all hostile actions in the region, in particular attacks on civilians and bombardments of inhabited areas; Demands the immediate cessation of all hostilities and the immediate complete and unconditional withdrawal of the occupying forces involved from the district of Agdam and all other recently occupied areas of the Azerbaijan Republic; RESOLUTION 874 (1993) Adopted by the Security Council at its 3292nd meeting, on 14 October 1993 Welcomes and commends to the parties the Adjusted timetable of urgent steps to implement Security Council resolutions 822 (1993) and 853 (1993) set out on 28 September 1993 at the meeting of the CSCE Minsk Group and submitted to the parties concerned by the Chairman of the Group with the full support of nine other members of the Group, and calls on the parties to accept it; RESOLUTION 884 (1993) Adopted by the Security Council at its 3313th meeting, on 12 November 1993 Condemns the recent violations of the cease-fire established between the parties, which resulted in a resumption of hostilities, and particularly condemns the occupation of the Zangelan district and the city of Goradiz, attacks on civilians and bombardments of the territory of the Azerbaijani Republic; Calls upon the Government of Armenia to use its influence to achieve compliance by the Armenians of the Nagorny Karabakh region of the Azerbaijani Republic with resolutions 822 (1993) , 853 (1993) and 874 (1993) , and to ensure that the forces involved are not provided with the means to extend their military campaign further;
