The blonde singer in the middle is Anneke Van Giersbergen, former singer of The Gathering. She was the inspiration for Floor, Simone from Epica, Charlotte from Delain, and others to think they could use their singing abilities in rock/metal, which had always be3n a male-dominated environment. She is a beloved figure, and is a frequent participant in Arjen’s projects. The singer on the right is Marcela Bovio, a Mexican singer Arjen discovered…she used to sing for Stream of Passion (another Arjen project), and now sings in MaYaN.

Marcela is also one of the backup Singers in "Ayreon - Everybody dies" she is also in Other Ayreon songs like "Ayreon - Daniel’s Descent into Transitus Medley" (where Simone SImons and Tommy).

Strange Machines is by far the strongest track on that album [Mandylion]. It was big in my homeland, the Netherlands, and it wasn’t famous for nothing. It was an epic track and Anneke was at her best on there. She inspired a lot of people, including me, and although she’s done all sorts of things, I think she deserved to have a lot more success.”

I cannot even begin to express how much I love each of these women. Marcela Bovio has flown CRIMINALLY under the radar. Having survived a cancer scare, I hope people will discover, along with Floor & Anneke, what a treasure she is (She, like floor has a KZread channel where she uploads a lot of great stuff). I could listen to each of them sing all day long.

Marcela Bovio has a simply amazing voice as she varies her vocals to fit in with Floor and then with Anneka.

Hello. me again👋. Nice reaction to a great song. I see a lot of people already explaining a lot about Anneke being the metal Queen mother of the Netherlands and an inspiration to MANY including Floor. The man behind all the keyboards is Sir Joost van den Broek ( also Dutch) he played keyboards in Floor’s first band “After Forever “ he is a great composer and producer and is knighted for his achievement in music. He is also helping Floor with her solo project at the moment , among a lot of other things. Stay safe and healthy. 🇳🇱🤘🫶💐🌹

Anneke is the godmother of all Metal/symphonic vocalists …… look how proud Floor looks at her!!

The keybordist is Joost van den Broek. He made music for the king and queen of the Netherlands and has been knighted. He was also part of After Forever, the first succesful band of Floor. They were really good. Check 'Monolith of doubt' live at the Kopspijkers TV show. You will probably spot the progress that she made!

In the middle was Anneke van Giersbergen mostly known from as a former lead singer of The Gathering. She was an inspiration to be a metal music singer for Floor Jansen. The Third lady is Marcela Bovio. She was lead singer in Stream of Passion band. She is participating in almost every Arjen Lucassen projects.

It is important to say that Anneke is a about an generation older that Floor and Marcella. If you're interested to hear more where that came from and how The Gathering and Anneke went from proto-symphonic / gothic metal to Floydy trip rock, check their awarded live concert dvd 'A Sound Relief' from 2005. A genre of music often ignored by metal fans, but so much rooted in the same musical soils and breeding grounds of melodic, melancholic progressive rock/metal music.

The singers apart from Floor were Anneke van Giersbergen and Marcela Bovio. Anneke's voice is to me one of the most recognizable and memorable ones out there, she has a special place in my heart. Floor did a very admirable role as the second soloist, and Marcela was proving the vital harmonic background (sometimes the great step out of the limelight and let others shine).

Love me some Areon. So many great performers and has introduced me to new bands and talent. It was Nightwish that lead me to the great Arjen by following Floor.

Listen also to beste Zangers 2021 with Anneke van Giersbergen..Floor was in the dutch show Beste Zangers in 2019.

Arjen's favourite from this concert was 'The Druids Turn to Stone', if you can handle a non-Floor song, you should listen to this. It is such a beautiful song and introduces you to Damian Wilson, who has been with Ayreon and Star One from the beginning and has a sublime voice.

This song was originally written for a solo voice and was originally sung by Anneke van Giersbergen, the blonde in this performance. Marcela Bovio - the redhead - is an exceptional singer and often deeply involved in the projects of Arjen Antony Lucassen. Not only will she often sing the demo tapes as a lead-in for the female performer's recordings, in this case she was actually the one that arranged this song for three lead voices. And Floor? .... well..... she's Floor.

Anneke and Floor were born Dutch Marcela came from Mexico to sing in the Netherlands. If it wasn't for Anneke singing the song Strange Machines from The Gathering. Anneke was just on Beste Zangers. Marcela has an amazing voice also. Anneke is 8 yrs older than Floor.

From this point there's so many roads to take (that all lead back to Arjen somehow). Continue exploring the Ayreon Universe of course (!), but also perhaps the more recent projects both Anneke & Marcela did with stellar musicians that were part of Floor's before/during-Nightwish-band ReVamp (check them out!). Anneke launched the band "Vuur" and Marcela followed suit with the incredible project DHWH. You guys shouldn't stare blindly at Nightwish! Anneke van Giersbergen (indeed, the blonde in the middle) is actually the reason why Floor started singing (Floor's great example) who sang in a Dutch goth metal and prog rok band called The Gathering (which has been compared to PINK FLOYD!)! And Marcela Bovio (the redhead on the right) is the Mexican-born lead singer of the Dutch symphonic death metal band MaYaN, aside from being a backing vocalist for Ayreon. Both just as powerful metal/rock divas as Floor is!

His tongue has been that way since he was little and now that he has lost all of his teeth (he is 13 yo) it sticks out more! If you google dogs like him they all have the same tongue! It's crazzzzyyyy! But yes vet knows and he is ok! Bless you - Suesue

Within temptation it is on tour in October of this year in North America, With iron maiden.... Arena sized venues. Unfortunately I cannot find any venue near me with reasonably priced tickets because the resale market has driven them up to over $500... And that's for Far away seats

It has the blonde singer here, Anneke van Giersbergen, as guest perfroming a duet with hteir lead singer Sharon den Adele. Probably the most beautiful duet ever. Anneke is known as the Godmother of Dutch metal female singers and so many were inspired by her earlier years with The Gathering. A great early song with her is Strange Machines live at Pinkpop in 1996. Devin Townsend called her the metal tinkerbell. She has performed all over the place after leaving the Gathering including with the bands Gentle Storm, Vuur, projects with Devin, solo projects and of course with Ayreon. My favorite song of hers is Travel, live from the 25th anniversary concert for the gathering. The red head is Marcela Bovio, a very underrated and underappreciated singer. She was a singer in a Mexican prog rock band when she was discovered by Arjen in a casting call he put out for relatively unknown singers to be on his Ayreon The Human Equation album. She was also the lead singer in a band with Arjen called Stream of Passion. She has done backing vocals for a number of bands including Epica, Blind Guardian, Gentle Storm as well as releasing some beautiful solo music as well. SHe is currently one of the lead singers in MaYan, a side project of Epica's Mark Jansen. Evrything she does is beautiful but one of the best ways to hear vocal abilities is on Mayan's Rebirth from Despair live from Masters of Rock.

Anneke has done a lot of amazing work with Devin Townsend, the greatest musician on the planet.

If anything floor was singing behind Annika, As she had the predominant and leading part... But I would think that Arianne would say that we're all seeing together as one. By the way, Brittany slayes Hayes, from Unleash the Archers has now collaborated vocally also with Ayreon.

That are irish tin flutes. The lady wolfman liked so much is Anneke van Giersbergen another Dutch queen of metal but also the great example for Floor, who is also Dutch, to start singing metal. DUTCH does not mean german but from the Netherlands. Check her out. She is already a long time metal singer with lot of collaborations. Some of the instrumentalists belong to her band.

This song is from the Ayreon side project "Into the Electric castle". Eight randomly reincarnated characters from the past of the sterilized planet Earth come to the castle for a survival quest. This is the demise of the Egyptian candidate voiced on the album by Anneke. She can't live to notice that Amon Ra is not comng to seal her fate.

@@Aranes68 Looking at my old CDs (and remembering listening to Ayreon as early as 1996), I would doubt that. "The Final Experiment" was released in 1995, and I'm pretty sure, there was even one more CD after that before the Electric Castle.
