She's so relatable/normal it's refreshing. I feel like I am sitting in a class in college and we are all sharing our favorite movies and she's just another friend/classmate.
She was so adorable showing her joy of film (and the admission she loves the Criterion sales) that I had to add Tampop to my want list immediately!

Don't watch Tampopo on an empty stomach. I first saw it in 1985 in a theater in San Francisco's Japantown. Walking out afterwords I was so hungry when I found myself surrounded by Ramin shops and other Japanese restaurants.
"High and Low", "Charade" and "Thief" are some of my all time favorite films! More I see her, more I think she's amazing.
“Disgustingly greedy” Nah you gotta go full Barry Jenkins in there lmao
Eyimofe is such a great film, and I’d argue the first properly good Nigerian film to ever be released. I sincerely hope we get made films of that quality out of Nigeria soon. It’s very much lagging behind considering how huge Nollywood is.
Ayo’s been killing it lately; from her TV/movie/voice acting roles to the episode she directed in The Bear which was my favorite of the season. Not to mention, she has the best LB reviews ever 😂

The last few closet videos have been excellent. Great hosts devoid of arrogance and sharing their views with us. I could listen to this lady talk about dozens of films in that closet for hours very happily.
You can't help but feel such glee and giddiness when Ayo's getting goofy
Shoutout to her Radiohead t-shirt
"I'm on these sales. I'm getting these 50% off DVDs" Lol, won't be surprised if I run into her at a Barnes & Nobles one day then. One of us! One of us!
Off topic but it’s so refreshing to see a Black woman reach her level of success just being herself and without being sexual or stereotypical. She’s so important to me.
Charade is an incredibly fun and underrated movie.
I didn't think I could love Ayo more but Criterion proved me wrong! Also, Eyimofe is such a great film, I saw it at a festival years ago and rarely see it mentioned, I didn't even know it was part of the collection so glad to see it's getting some love The only misstep she made was not going for the boxsets 😅 gotta get your money's worth
I like her movie choices, especially with High And Low, The Funeral and Charade.
From Hollywood Handbook Pro Version to the main feed, wow. She’s made it. ❤
she's adorable. she could fix me.
Ayoooo! Love her in The Bear and Bottoms. She has great taste!
drop the full version NOWWW i could watch her for hours shes so funny and endearing
I could listen to her talk about movies for hours. Amazing picks Ayo she definitely one of us with that prepared list for the 50% off sale.
Gotta love a guest who admits what we all do-wait for the 50% off sale.
This is already one of my favorite closet videos, she's so sweet.
I love her energy!
I’m loving all the content we’re getting of ayo recently
Right out of the gate with High and Low. Didn’t see that coming. Respect. Her picks just kept getting better.
I literally just hit up my local Barnes and Noble for the Criterion sale. It’s nice knowing Ayo participates in this July activity.
she's wearing a radiohead shirt too 😭🫶
“A movie made by pals.” Is so perfect 😂❤ love her sm
Yes to the t-shirt
I remember following her on Letterboxd and honestly I’ve never seen an actor so relatable in their love for movies, i mean QT talks about old movies all the time, but Ayo feels like any of us, just so eager to watch movies and so happy to talk about them, her excitement about movies really lightens my day, she seems so nice and joyful and kickass and also happens to be extremely talented and beautiful. So glad to see her getting the acclaim and love she deserves
This was really sweet, you can tell Ayo really likes watching films
love her and i'm so happy y'all brought her on!! she deserves her flowers
Hahaha I relate so hard to how getting an “I liked it” from your immigrant dad is the equivalent to anyone else fawning over a movie for an hour
Ayo is literally the best! People's princess fr fr

The Bear is very accessible, its stressful but you’ll get into it very quickly. Bottoms is not for everyone, very quirky goofy gen-z comedy but super enjoyable, also you’ve probably heard her voice work on the latest TMNT movie, or Inside Out 2, and a guest role in Abbott Elementary was also in Theater Camp. Besides that shes got a lot lined up so im sure you’ll see her somewhere eventually
Been waiting for this one!!
Another Black Woman who loves the iconic Japanese film directors. And I thought I was the only one! This made me so happy.😀😀😀
She’s so stinking adorable.
finally an intervirw that you dont have to schedule a time to watch it!!! short and sweet, perfect interview and loved ayo in this obviously
One of the best episodes yet - Ayo is fantastic!! You have to have her do this again!
Love her in The Bear, love her in the Criterion closet. Interesting choices too. Thief is incredible
She is a true cinephile. Very knowledgeable and absolutely infectious. She seems like she would be an amazing person to watch movies with. I bet she was voted most likely to succeed in her high school; she's definitely doing that and rightly so!
One of my favorite criterion closet episodes. She's so excited and knowledgeable of her favorites, I want to see all of them❤
She's the sweetest. I loved that she chose "High and Low" also!
What's interesting about Juzo Itami as a director is that he eventually followed in his father's footsteps. It would be great if the Criterion Channel could get some of Mansaku Itami's films available to stream in the US because they're not really available anywhere.
This could be 10 times longer and my ears 'd be just as perked up
I could listen to Ayo talk movies for the rest of my life.
This went into my youtube playlist of best videos ever, and I obviously had to create a letterbodx list based on Ayo's picks hihihi
I’m in the middle of The Bear S03 right now. Gonna like so I can come back and watch soon. She’s a great talent.
