Axle Swap In The Middle Of Nowhere

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Got contacted by Navtec Expeditions again about one of their vehicles having another issue with a front axle. So they had a spare axle housing we took in just in case we couldn't repair the one in the vehicle. Once getting out there we decided swapping the entire housing out was the quickest and easiest option. Then we could drive the vehicle out and back to town. Things went rather smoothly and we made great time considering the recent flooding had damaged the highway adding an extra hour drive time to get out there. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Here you have guys doing what they love, invested bit of their time and resources to film and put it all together for us. Just pure quality and great to watch.

Fortunately I have never broken down in my many trips to southern Utah, but I know who I will call if it ever happens. There were many times I asked myself, how would I get my vehicle out of here if I had a major failure, now I know. You actually did help me out several years ago as I was passing through Moab. A truck pulled out in front of me on the main road and we had a little finder bender. As I was leaving town I could hear rubbing on my right front tire so I pulled into your shop on the way out of town and asked if you could straighten my bumper, you pulled out your Jeep, attached your winch to my bumper and had it straightened. I tried to pay you, but you just said nope and sent us on our way and I have never forgotten that. Thank you again!

True.. They cut their work in half by doing it on the trail-- because that would have been another tough extraction if he had to pull it-- and then they would still have to swap it anyway. They made it look easy, but that was probably quite a bit of prep work: sourcing the axle, making sure you have all the right tools with you, etc.... Also, Love your channel IVAN. I've learned so much from watching your channel-- I feel like I could graduate as an automotive diagnostic technician now; I was a pretty good mechanic already, but now thanks to you --- I bought a scan tool and I'm shopping for a scope. I couldn't believe how much I was in the dark on that stuff. Your body of work is incredible-- keep the vids coming. cheers

Anywhere, Anytime.. Anything. Absolute beast mode between the offroad towing/recovery as well as trail repair! Love watching your videos. Me and my Wife had our honeymoon in Utah we came from Pennsylvania. First stop was Moab where we were guilty of taking the rental down some 4x4 trail (nothing too crazy) Those NAVTEC rigs actually passed us on trail while we were leaving Arches Park off road to get back to the main highway and the drivers and customers were laughing their asses off at us. Later in the trip we were staying outside Capital Reef state park where we rented a jeep and went from the high elevation mountains into high desert and out the Bentonite Hills, as we were crossing the creek to get on the main road there was a couple from VA and their rental 4runner buried in the sand on the other side of the freemont creek? where we had to get across and back on 24. I had a tad bit of experience getting my own rigs out of sticky situations growing up so I helped assist them. Turns out Husband wasnt familiar with the vehicle needing to be in N to get into 4 low and once I walked him through that the thing crawled right out of the wet/muddy sand no problem after they were stuck there for over an hour with no cell service and no idea company's like yours exist. After getting back from our trip I discovered your youtube and every time I watch a trail mater video it brings me back to such a happy place. Fell in love with Utah and these videos keep that fire alive! Much appreciation for what you do, you all make a huge difference and relieve so much stress for your customers. It wasnt much but I tell that story about our honeymoon every chance I get so I love the ability to watch a story like that unfold in every one of your videos! Thanks Rory, Mike, Shawn and Lily! Yall truly are lifesavers.

Rory., you are nothing short of awesome. I worked with many degreed engineers over the years. I’m a retired electrical design engineer. The solutions you come up with are over the top. If I had suggested your solutions to the powers that be, I would have been laughed at. But behold!! They solved the problem. Don’t ever forget your roots. They will take you far!!

Shout out to the editing of the axle-repair-sped-up section. Mixing in audio over the footage like that was a nice touch.
