Engineer Pass Recovery

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We were contacted about a jeep on Engineer Pass above Ouray Colorado, it had a broken steering box and a damaged sector shaft that goes to the steering column. We happen to have a newer jeep that we retrieved off the mountain awhile ago that we took some parts off of to see if they would fit. We loaded up and headed out to get it. Thank you all for watching and supporting us.

Was so nice to see some of engineer pass again. Back in late 80’s and 90’s I rode my dirt bike over it. Once with my 10 yr. Old son sitting in front of me partly on gas tank. I see this video and now being old I think how stupid I was, could have been bad. He wanted to do it so bad. Your trail side repairs are amazing. Thanks to you to your editor I can show my grand kids your videos! They love them

The amount of stuff on trail mater is crazy. Another great successful save. Videos are getting awesome with the content. Great job. 1) been on that pass several times. It is no joke up there. Good reason to huff and puff. There is no air up there. 2) I've been watching for a few months. I've always thought "I can do that with a locker". Then I watched rory pivot trail mater without a spotter using a dang Boulder. I just got schooled and discovered that there's another level. That is some serious skill and knowledge.

My mother was born in Ouray, & her father an electrical engineer putting in electrical systems, wiring & lighting in the mines. Later they moved to E of Price (UT) & her father put in more mine wiring, and later returned to Midway UT, where the Snake Creek Power Station was developed & Heber Valley Power and Light. My mom told me that when she got older her father would tell stories of traveling in the Ouray area on high, steep & narrow roads, with huge drop offs (like shown in the video). The repairs done by you "two", quick, efficient & remarkable, as always. And having the tools, parts, know how and gear to pull it off. Long ride back to Moab though.

Helped the rancher, along with about eight other hands to bring his own herd (mixed in with other ranchers cattle) down from 8K feet up to market the first week in September!! Talk about narrow cow paths on the edge of those mountains! Unforgettable !!!! (A patron page hum)! Thanks for the memories guys! Wisconsin

That track must have been one of the more scary ones you have tackled, not knowing what was round the next bend or if there had been a land slide on your side of the valley! We did not quite get the steepness of the climb you had to do it was only on the decent did it become more obvious. You make it look so simple with your calm and jovial attitude to these situations! Great work as always!

@@dankybud2532 Many years ago my Wife and I were camping close to the Black Bear Pass. I rode my XT600 down to Telluride (I think, it has been 35 years ago). The road had several 2 foot ledges that I had to go up and down, not to mention the switchbacks, but at the time I was a pretty good rider. I was coming back to the camper and met a fellow with an older style Jeep Wagoner. He asked me how the trail was in front of him, and I said that there were several 2 foot ledges, and he was going to scrape the bottom of his rig pretty bad. His Jeep was completely stock, and was quite low to the ground. He asked me if he should turn around while he could, and I replied that if it was me I definitely would. LOL He did turn around. It was an awesome ride on my bike though, I do remember that. That huge house that was built right on the edge of that several hundred foot sheer drop off was amazing. I would have NEVER been able to sleep in that house though. I do NOT have a fear of falling, I have a fear of LANDING.
