Not gonna lie, those games look seriously addicting. The hard part is finding people willing to learn to play and then play. I'm a world war 2 addict, no joke.

@@jonathanserrano1471 i have the same game like you ... but without somebody to play ... i play the hand of God ... so i play logically all countries like a I.A. and just the dices can choose the future ...also you have destroyers and howitzer canon and 6 news tehcnologies ...for each 5 countries so it s 30 technologies !!!! example Kamikaze,radar,wolf pack,russian winter,B-29 superforteress ... but the book for rules 60 pages to know how to play ... su much of time i pass to read again and again ... now I'm a very good challenger player ... good luck to found someone to play ! ;-D

You can still buy 1941 (beginners version), 1942 SE (intermediate edition), 1940 Europe and 1940 Pacific (which combine for 1940 Global), and the off-shoot, 1914 (WWI). They are all still in-print.

Anniversary Edition are the best (combined map/rule set), but limited and sometimes quite expensive.

It took us a while to get the fly-over anti aircraft rule correct., and for some reason in this game sneak eyes almost always happens at least once on Bombing raids.

As kids Axis and Allies was Greatest board game ever! Conquest of the Empire was pretty fun too. Followed by Fortress America to change things up every now and then. Finally Shogun which was rarely played think it popped out once or twice a year as kids My group of friends actually started to play Axis and Allies with a custom set of rules. "2 Guys and a Tank". Everyone started out with just their capital province, 2 infantry members and 1 tank. There was also a set money figure each player started out with (that I completely forget now). Plus there was no players in the actual Axis and Allies factions. Players were allowed to make their own factions. So opening moves were land money grabs. And then you would kind of have these non historical borders that basically became normal over time as this alternative rule set was played more and more. And the created factions were sometimes interesting. Like if UK and Japan decided to team up. Or you could get a 3 way battle ala Axis vs Allies vs Comintern. Then all of the unhistorical factions. UK/Germany, Japan/USA etc. We would put in some serious sessions of Axis and Allies. Easily 10-12 hour sessions and often several days in a row during the summer months.

my friends and i had a war that went on for 3 months and we played for hours at least every other day

This is a game i've played in 1992, and my first introduction to table flipping, now it seems it's a joke, well back the it wasn't. My friend literally flipped a 10 hour game, at the least. We just all lost our shit.

I absolutely love all of your Axis and Allies content. I've watched all them now twice. I'm a huge A&A fan but sadly don't have a core group to play with on a regular basis. It would be awesome to play with you guys and other guys from the community. Keep up the great videos!

Been playing since the late 80's...we went through the landbridging rule mistake also...lol...the pirate game was called broadsides and boarding parties...

There are a fee-open-source version. TripleA. Start there agains AI to learn a map.Then play on the lobby found in the game menu.

Love this game! Had it as a teen, bought it again in my 20's and got rid of it at some point. Daughter bought me a new copy of the original game on e-bay for $125+ a few months ago. Best gift I've ever gotten! Best game ever!

Hey, Zayne, Eric here. Thanks for watching! Your understanding of the economy in the game is exactly correct. The answer to all of your questions is "yes." When a territory is captured, the victor's IPCs go up by the designated amount and the loser's goes down. Every faction starts with a specific amount of IPCs they get every turn. That number will fluctuate as territories are captured and lost. Also, you can "liberate" an ally's territory from an enemy who captured it. In that case, the enemy no longer gets the IPCs for that territory, but neither do you. Instead, the original owner's IPCs go back up even if they are not the ones who liberated it. For example, if Germany captures Alaska, Germany's IPCs go up and the U.S. goes down, as noted above. Then Russia comes in and beats back the Germans, liberating the territory. The Germans' IPCs go down, as noted, but Russia's don't go up even though they are the ones who won the battle. Instead, the U.S.'s do since they are the original owner. Russia just liberated the territory for them. The only time this wouldn't be the case is if the original owner's capital was held by the enemy. Germany holding Washington DC, for instance. Finally, you are correct when it comes to the industrial complex. The IPC figure limits the total number of units you can build in any one turn. Cost doesn't matter. If it's "3," you can build 3 total units of any type there each turn. Hope that helps! Enjoy the game, and thanks again for watching!

Okay, this is Eric again. There's a lot to tackle here! I'll try to keep it brief: "lets say I attack 2 infantry and a fighter with 2 infantry can I decide to only attack the two infantry in the one territory?" No, you must attack everything in the territory. "Say if I rolled 1's both times, the defender would most likely get rid of the infantry, so could he counter attack with the fighter in that territory or just the ones I attack." He can counterattack with every unit in the territory, whether or not you hit them or targeted them. So even if you didn't want to attack that fight, it WILL fire back at you. "Do all defending units in the territory go on the battle strip and do all of the defending units get to Counterattack?" Correct, ALL defending units get to defend. You don't get to select which units you are attacking. It's your invading forces versus everything in the territory. That means when you invade, invade with enough forces. "Lastly how many units can I attack with and can the opponent defend with at once?" As many as you want. If you invade with 3 units, you'll roll for 3 units. If you invade with 40 units, you'll roll for 40. There is no limit to the size of your armies, until you run out of pieces. Same on defense. The defenders can stack as many units as they want. This often happens with Russia, who can build huge piles of infantry to defend the mother land! "Can I attack a territory with 1 infantry with 5 infantry by rolling 5 dices at once or just one attack then one defend repeat with one unit?" I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. If you want to send armies in in waves, you can do that, though it's not a good idea to invade that way. If you have 5 units next to a territory with 1 enemy unit, you can attack all at once or just send in a couple of guys. If your small force gets defeated, you can send in more if you want (but you CANNOT do it mid-battle; each battle must be resolved before you move again). This is a bad tactic, though. Don't do it. Hope that helps!

I've played this game for years and I've gotten to the point where I can't find anyone of my skill level to play with me I enjoy being Germany because the European battle is my favorite. What you said about the transports acting as land bridges is a larger version of how I used to play, I'd say that if the transports is in one sea some then it can offload to boatload of troops . And I don't know if that's actually how you should play

Enjoyed the video! I had always wanted this as a kid but really didn't know anyone else who shared my interest and would invest the time to play it seriously. Now as an adult, since it would be easier than a computer game for my dad I am thinking of revisiting it! Keep on playin'...

I completely sympathize with you, it is a pain in the butt getting anyone together for a game. :( Don't have the same group of buddies when you get older, and those kind of buddies seem to be harder to find.

I know. It stinks. If I ever end up living in some sort of senior living home when I get old, I'm totally starting a board game club. LOL

I still have the original in the loft, though it's been many years since I've played it. I ended up buying small white-metal tanks for all but the Japanese - T34s for the Russians, all sorts of Panthers and Tigers for the Germans, and so on - and painted them up. I also ended up painting the ships, subs and planes in their proper colours. I'd have talcum powder on the board to simulate conditions on the eastern front. I may have to bring it down and have another crack solo for old times' sake.

@@diegoregalado4485 Global 1940 are the worst i my opinion. Maybe 20 games before you get most of it with strategies and tactics. And first 2 rounds takes 2 hours each. :/

Hey when I bought A&A 1940 I got one 2nd ed Europe and 1 Pacific ed 1st ed. Can they still be played together?

@@NerdOutWithMe lost friendships isn't as big a deal--- no single turn is predictable, but the overall final shape of the game is very predictable, more or less the exact moment the Axis have a last chance is the same almost every time, so there's no feeling of -betrayal- ….everyone sees it all coming, and it's just a matter of skill and dice, but it's a fair, fair, game. the small exception is the Indian Ocean is a place of chaos, but if either side does risky crap there to try to make a big surprise happen, it can blow up in their face, and it will cost them a lot of money, and you do get to beat them up for it. Russia wants Borneo or Germany wants Australia? it probably, probably won't be happening.

I love those games, but can't get my friends to play.

BIG NEWS Nerd Out With Me!!! The big news is the VANN formulas!!! I developed them 30 years ago for A&A games, and they will work with some other games!!! It will change everyone's A&A gaming!!! Here is a comment I left on someone's youtube channel!!! "When they put the artillery in the game, they made the tank obsolete to buy. The Mechanized infantry, cruiser, battleship, and the aircraft carrier are also obsolete to buy. I developed the VANN formulas 30 years ago for the A&A games. I have found the I can use the same formulas in some other games also besides A&A games. With these formulas you can price units, you can do the units attack and defend abilities, and you can find units in your game that are obsolete in your house rule s game. I also know that these formulas really kills game strategy unless you the proper units, with the proper special abilities to go with them.. P.S. I don't know if I will leave anymore comments here, but if I do, I do then. HAPPY HUNTING." :) :) :) YES THESE FORMULAS ARE REAL, AND THEY DO WORK!!!!!! :) :) :)

1942, both in number and variety. (Also, the 1940 versions are separated by theater (Europe and Pacific), the 1942 versions are global.)

If you buy both Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940 to play the Global 1940 game, that has the most units. More so than 1942. Rules-wise 1942 is much simpler, and doesn't go as long. I have played 2 Day games of 1940 before so if you buy that be prepared to be playing a long time.

I would seriously recommend starting with 1942 Second Edition... it's basically your "classic" Axis and Allies game. Both of the 1940 versions (Europe and Pacific) have more advanced rules than 1942 and are designed to be combined into 1940 Global, which is bigger, more complex, more units and much longer to play. So buy 1942 SE first, and if you enjoy it and still want more, then move on to the 1940 versions...

These versions are still in print. They are available on Amazon and elsewhere right now, very easy to find and VERY worth it if you're a fan of the game."

do u own all the axis and allies games? the old one i played really the most. But i think i have the compleet serie atm unles there has been a new release i do not know of :).

How much did the original cost you? I've only seen it for like $150

Lol, I didn't start playing D&D until around 96. Speaking of the scares of the 80's, you should find the made-for-TV movie Mazes & Monsters. It was Tom Hank's first starring role and it's very clearly based on the "D&D is evil" era.

Anniversary Edition (50 years) are the best map/rule set of the games (out of print and expensive). Global 1940 have toooooo many setup problems. Last i checked they were on setup 10.

1) Load units onto transport (2 infantry, 1 infantry & 1 armor, or 1 armor)2) Move transport3) Unload units Once the transport has unloaded, it cannot move. That applies even if it didn't actually move and only loaded and unloaded, "land bridge" style, like crossing from Africa to Gibraltar. With a "land bridge," the max unit capacity still applies.

1) Load transport [units loaded cannot move before or after loading]... 2) move transport [if desired]... 3) unload transport... the number of units per transport is 1-infantry + 1-any other type of unit (tank, another infantry, artillery, AAA, etc)... for a maximum of two units.

I bought the game at a Toy Store when I was 8. It's come so far, since then. Unlike every other war-game that is dumbing down rheir rules to increase their player base, A&A keeps rasing the bar. Even the zombie one actually looks cool!

@@NerdOutWithMe Yeah, when I saw it, all of the sudden. I was just, "Come on. Seriously? Not you guys!". Then I thought of A&A's sensibility. Their possible approach towards the concept. I was close. It's intriguing. The one weird thing is Caualty rolls for Attacker's. Makes no sense, but interested in finding out why. The Purchase and Placement of units being at the END of your turn is worth noting as well.

This game is so nostalgic and I wish that I could get one for free because it cost so much where I live but life isnt always fair

Really Great series, but Global 1940 are not worth playing. To many stupid setup-misstakes. Best way to balance it is to move US bonuses from US to Philippine and keep original setup. 5-15 IPC depending on skill set in your playgroup.

My recommendation is to play axis vs allies. If you are 2 vs 2, make combined decision. Nobody likes to play 6-12 hours and a simple mistake ruins the game.

I played as soviet union on my first game. Lost two battles to Japan and one to Germany. USA had to send reinforcements for this.

this game is horrid to set up, takes an hour to put the units on the board. otherwise the game is amazing
