I like that the build is going in a direction to make the 3d printed parts work. They look so good! It's going to be a heavy car in the end but pretty :)

Exactly Hahahah thanks for the support !
Great clear video, learnt a lot. Thanks for posting it.
Dude this video saved my life, my 2 year old son plays with my scx24 deadbolt and cracked the shock tower.. now I'm simply going to relocate the shocks to the frame! Thanks!!

Add tiny O rings before you add the grease and see of that helps

I put my rear shocks in the same location. I took a different approach in the front though. You can leave the shocks in their stock location and move the body mount to its highest setting. This will give you the same look but at the same time keeping your center of gravity a little lower in the front. Love watching the build and the scale parts look awesome! Sometimes looks have to outweigh performance.

That’s a good idea I might just have to come around to that technique to get the thing to actually crawl ahahah !

Move ur upper rear shocks to the next forward hole its a huge difference in stability and flex!!!
There is another vid out about this. If u keep the front shocks straight up and the rear slanted it helps u climb better. This way in this video is actually not as good as the stock setup for climbing.

Valid points 🙌
Great project Miguel! I like how you handled that issue rather than pulling the scale parts off as they look bad ass.

The scale parts are dope !!! Couldn’t take them off hahahaha
Great detailed video, thank you! I’m just getting into RC and ordered the C10 version to use to learn to work on them before touching more expensive trucks. This was extremely helpful. I plan on switching tires to a slightly larger tire, and this mod will be required. Cheers.

Upgrading it is so cheap. My Tmaxx is now just sitting.
Tried this and really didn't like it. It just made my Jeep more top heavy by being raised so far up. Unless you have wheel rubbing dont try this one, just trim your body. That's a better option.

👍👍👍
Angle them more and bring it lower. More flex. Better side hilling. Angling the shock a little more will reduce spring resistance, allows for more travel/flex, and lowers the chassis lowering the center of gravity. IMO It one of the best free mods you make. I use the battery tab to mount the rear shock. The front will depend on the which scx. But equally low. Mine sits at roughly the lower 1/3 of the travel.

@@MiguelCortez It's a free experiment and mostly reversible. On the jeep the rear wheels will hit fenders unless you drill new hinge mount holes to raise the body in the rear.(or cut out the fenders wider). I did this and cut frame rail slots in the grill to allow the front body to sit at the lowest position on the mounting posts. You drag your bottom center more but it's way more stable. I didn't like the idea till I tried it..now I'm all about dropping everything as low as possible. However your upper accessories could make it want to tip side hilling with softer suspension unless you go with internal shocks with reversed springs that pull the body down.
I think i found a negative, I did this with one shock just to test it and it bottomed out faster, idk if it was cause they where at diff heights or what.
@MiguelCortez

Definitely a issue that happens after the relocation.

I just did it with both fronts and still bottoms out faster, might need stronger springs also cause they don’t seem to bring the shocks back up after pressed in

Nice video, What grease did you use? I dont find this previous video
Having a good scale look with all that stuff on the top of the body, means to loose some climbing and technical capabilities, so... You have to decide what are your rig is going to use for. And yes, relocate your shocks could help to climb better, but this position is too high if you wanna climb more than 45°. In the other hand, you have a very nice looking scale jeep, congrats!
@MiguelCortez

Agreed the position of the shocks is too high. A viewer pointed out it should be called a overlander now! Going with that hahah
Did you do anything to the drive shafts? When I had mine without shocks at full droop my drive lines came out. Great stuff man!
Great instructional vid. I followed along but found my servo hung low and kind of removed any travel...did I miss a step? \

Hey man just got back into the hobby, you know any good micro crawl spots in SoCal? Thanks
Mounting your shocks to the bumper mounts gives some amazing performance try it you'll thank me I guarantee it I did that on my raptor build and I'm doing near vertical climbs no suspension unload at all ascending or descending

There is nothing wrong with your model or idea you should just use some TACKY grease instead of regular grease because REGULAR grease will just get warm and come out but the tacky grease will not get warm and begin to melt down like regular grease

Threads ? Or the head ? Ease it in
Takes alot of flex out of the front the way the tire hits the shock when turning going over anything.
