I bought the Teal Chevy truck scx24 today. Cute little rig. . Right out of the box I noticed there isn’t enough weight to make the tires stick. The Chevy truck I didn’t find that top heavy probably because it’s not a full body like the Jeep.also it’s needs a pinch more wheel speed. Can't wait to start tweaking ours more! I got the brass knuckles for ours and the diff covers should arrive today. I also moved the shocks around to lift it more for added clearance but I don't like how tippy it is now. Hopefully the diff covers will help. The one thing I dislike the most about it is the poor spring rate. They are definitely undersprung. Tried putting Vaseline in them but it all leaked out. Thank you guys for making such great videos. I went from being satisfied with the SCX24 then after I watched a few of your reviews I'm looking at Gen 8 Axe Editions and eyeballing my credit card.

Spring hardness is ok but they need to be damped or slowed down. Compression, the car rolls over quickly. Rebound, the thing bounces like a pogo stick. The mod we do is cool without spending $40 for shocks. It's hard to get sealed shocks this small anyway that are reliable.

A good steering mod is to replace the spring in the servosaver with a length of fuel tubing. Stiffens it up and still functions as designed. Simply adjust for tension by how long a pice you use. The stock servo isn’t bad if it’s not wasting power.

Thanks for the tips! Even though the car itself is in the gift box for few more weeks (is for my son, yeah, hah), I already ordered the new tires and some green slime for the shocks. Tires are those recommended Rok Lox. New tires comes with new foams but without rims so I need to rip off those stock tyres somehow. I hope it is not hard. Do I need to glue the new tires even though these micro crawlers are very light and slow? And could I add some DIY weights between the rims and the foams maybe? Tires were hard to find from Europe based shops and there were no wheel weights nor brass knuckles etc available in the same shop. This car is the first rc crawler in our house and I'm really worried that I'm going to order one for my self too. @@RCReviewChannel yes sir! and each order comes with 2 set of steering linkage, made sooo much difference on turning, even with the servo saver and stock servo, it felt so much more direct and precise! you gotta try that out bro

here is my thinking after implementing most of these mods: . important: the rc4wd tires do not fit the Machette wheels properly. they are very slightly too large. in my case (i went foolishly went ahead and mounted and glued them anyway) so they are not concentric...boo. maybe they fit some set of beadlocks not mentioned by the author? not sure . the tires themselve produce a marginal improvement in grip over stock...marginal . diff covers : be aware, if you've never disassembled the stock diffs, that the sleeve bearings inside do not want to be removed from the plastic covers to be placed into the new brass covers (not mentioned in the vid), and they are a bear to get out. i finally resorted to brute force and they're fine (i now see others have tried heat, acetone, wd40...don't bother) . the diff covers weight provide a modest improvement . diff fluid for shocks - imho, this 20M weight is too thick. i used it per the instructions, and i used it spareingly and i do get not wanting this to leak, but i still think something less thick would be more effective. many report success with green slime. dunno. . instead of wheel weights (unavailable as i write this ), i used these (Que-T 4pcs 5mm Brass Heavy Duty Hex Adaptor for 1: 24 SCX24 AXI90081 - amz, $10.99). they fit fine. they're 27 gr total. they provide marginal improvement i did not do the brass knuckles. my bottom line: i suppose you could say that numerous 'marginal' improvements should make a significant improvement overall, but i remain skeptical. i surely would not mess with the tires recommended with machette wheels. and maybe slightly thinner grease (maybe black lithium? marine?). anyway, i hope this is helpful to others

Good video. Gotta say by the time you buy everything you'd be better off getting a used ten scale.

Regarding the stock scx24 tires. Placing them in a zip loc baggie and wetting them with wd 40 will soften the tires. Be patient it does take time.

Dear RC Review, could you please recommend a replacement battery for this model? Maybe with a higher capacity than the 350? Thanks a lot! Great reviews you do! Like the style...:)
