Axial SCX10 II RTR 2000 Jeep Cherokee Unboxing While On The Road

Axial has been watching and listening to their customers as evidenced by the changes they have made to their bulletproof SCX10 line. Both the kit and RTR versions have some great updates, but the kit definitely wins out on the feature side. Having run this for hours this weekend, I can say that this truck is amazing to drive. The tight turn radius is the most notable "game-changer" for me vs. the origin SCX10. The 35T motor felt very slow on open roads, but felt fantastic on the trail - lots of power and control. Check out the unboxing, but be on the lookout for the run videos and first impressions video coming up soon.
I should also point out that I was glad I had it with me. I broke a C-hub carrier on the SCX10 Jeep Rubicon in the first 15 minutes of funning.

oh yeah. I took it to the body right after I finished unboxing. Now I have black fender flares and some custom art on the top ;)

that is super cool man love the detail you did with a sharpie I learn as I go brother that's how I did everything when I started getting into this Hobby little over 2 years ago I don't know anything about Crawlers just buy the videos I watch seems to be pretty damn cool few upgrades and that things going to be a beast

No joke. I had to cut out the audio about the axles because I misspoke...so I just put it in with text. I hear you about learning as I go. Dogbones, CVDs, Driveshafts, A-arms, lockers, c-hubs...sounded to me like "Wah, wah, wah, WAH, wah". I have to google some of it to make sure I have the right name for them. But this thing will be a beast soon. then I want to find a new body for it.

Those links do look smaller and different than the ones i seen on other reviews. Not sure if the rtr and kit versions are different or what. Great review Tony. Thumbs-up

Definitely different links than the kit. These seem to work, but we'll see how long they can keep up.
That's the same RTR controller I got for my arrma vehicles. I like it a lot. I never leave it on like I do my traxxas ones. The light is on the top and more noticeable. I don't think I've ever actually used and entire set of batteries on a traxxas controller. I always leave the damn things on. Lol.

haha! The X-maxx one gets left on all the time. The power switch on that is in a weird place...unlike this one that doesn't let you forget. I didn't think I'd like the controller, but it was great. Did a lot of one-handed driving that I can't do with my big DX4R Pro.
hi there, why, oh why do the rtr AXIAL and rtr RC4WD not have the 2 speed gearbox like the self build kits have. this really really really really really really really really really really bugs me to high heaven. lol awesome rig, gotta get me one of those soon. 😀 👍 👍

I have no idea. Maybe they think the people who run RTR would have problems using and maintaining a 2 speed?

Mikey mike.. they do not come 2 speed...rtr needs to fit the budget minded rc er so that's why the older trans.
Is it worth it cost wise? Is there a big difference in the frames?

Depends on the battery and charger. Probably $100-120 for a good starting setup

Oh yeah. You get the new transmission and better links in the Kit version, but if you want to run it right away and not build it...this thing is pretty insane. I'll have several run videos of it coming soon. It was unstoppable. The bumpers definitely stick out and catch, but if you line it up right they get out of the way. The trailer hitch also catches, but is easily removable. I ran it stock to show how it would handle straight out of the box.

learn about cars! The more you understand them the more you enjoy them, same for rc since they are so similar.
I love rc's i have a real jeep...is just too bad is too expensive.....sad
