    The truck is OK. But that bronco body is incredible. Such nice detail from a factory.

    Agreed....😁 The truck is ok'ish and the Body is pretty darn cool, too bad it's so darn top heavy! 🙄 oh well... that's just the price that we pay for the coolness.😂👍

    I like the rubber o ring idea, It gives The drive shafts a little forgiveness. Crawling up and down over rocks ,and, Obstacles👍👏

    😁👍 my initial thought too Kevin, but ultimately I think that the screw method would be the best way to go about it, "just for the adjustability factor" but otherwise.."the rubber Grommet idea, seemed like the most sound.😄👍

    @@R.C.A.D. So after digging in more only the rear was really bad, the front was ok. So I took my Vanquish drive shaft which came with many spare center inserts and cut off two 4 mm pieces and slide them into the shafts. Worked like a dream, no more floppy shafts, no one likes floppy shafts." That's what she said. Peace out!

    @robertwermis2971 Nice... 😁👍 I was thinking the same thing about the wild boar inserts that come with the trx4 long travel lift kit,😊 "they look like a pretty close match,🤔 I haven't actually attempted anything with those yet, but I'm thinking that the other portion of the drive shaft "the female portions" might be interchangeable with the trx4 shafts,🤔 😕 maybe.... And if so, then one could use the left over trx4 drive shaft pieces to replace the short female portions on the axial with a slightly longer piece.🤔😕 Maybe.. Like I said I haven't attempted anything with that idea as of yet, the idea hit me when I recently installed the trx4 lift onto my bronco,😄 And the only reason I haven't attempted anything with the drive shaft idea was because of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it factor" my drive shaft rig is still working fine.😂 Lol But I like your style Robert "way to adapt and overcome.😁🤜🤛 P.S. lol on the "that's what she saids" 😂

    Your garments are better things than my earplugs. But there’s a lot of miles on mine and I haven’t had any more trouble. But I’m sure the foam will grind away in time.

    Well we might be on the same page with the Grommets and Ear plugs, I'm sure that the ear plugs will still outlast the driveshaft universals,😄 But ultimately, I think that the "screw technique" would still be the best way to go.😊 Much appreciated once again for your great comments Dan, and many thanks for checking out the video my friend.😁🙏

    Curious if the manual lists the drive shaft and link lengths. Just a guess but it Looks like maybe they went with taller tires and longer links and overlooked the driveshaft length. Either way a definent slip on axial's part. Thanks for the tips Jim. 👍

  • @R.C.A.D.

    @R.C.A.D.

    Yeah.. not sure what the manual says about them 🤔 I know that it lists all of the vehicles parts, but I don't think they show a length on the links "just a part number.😕 As far as the Tall tires & longer link thought; Tires technically have nothing to do with anything "since they're attached to the axle, and don't have any effect on the drive shaft length,😕 A lift kit on the other hand "would effect the drive shaft length, because it's lifting the chassis, and transmission, up farther away from the axles, "which could possibly call for a longer driveshaft, depending on how tall the lift is.l,🤔😕 But the tires themselves, wouldn't change a darn thing on the driveshaft length.😊👌 Links; The links are at whatever length they need to be, in order to keep the axles located at whatever wheelbase the vehicle was designed to be,😕 "Shorter links" would end up giving you a shorter wheelbase, and Longer links, would give you a longer wheelbase, The moral of the story is, that the tire's, and links, are both kinda like static items on a vehicle, and wouldn't effect the driveshaft length, and the only way that the links would change the driveshaft length, is if someone were lengthen, or shorten, the wheelbase on that particular vehicle, from what it was in stock configuration😕😊👍 This little problem is all on Axial, either somebody didn't measure things right, or they were just cutting corners, and using up some old stock that was designed for a different vehicle.🤔😕 Either way.... This was something that Axial Goofed up on.🙄😂 Lol Yeah I had to look at those driveshafts a couple of times, "just to believe it for myself Doug,😕 A RC manufacturer missing something as important as this, "isn't something that normally happens.😕 "Thankfully" it was an easy thing to correct, otherwise spending some money on new aftermarket driveshafts, would be the only other way to remedy the situation, and if the aftermarket guys are basing their measurements off of Axials measurements, then those probably wouldn't be right either,🙄😂 Anyways... At least this was a easy repair, and the nicest part is that anyone can do it, and there's all kinds of different ways of going about it, that cost little to nothing out of pocket.😁👍 Win win 😊 Thanks for your great questions and suggestions Doug, and many more for checking out the repair,😊 That means a lot, especially since you don't even own one of these vehicles,😄 Very much appreciated Brother.😁👍🤜🤛

    I think the manufacturer knew about this Problem and produce the model anyway,, The axial 6x6 had,the same problem. That's why I went with the traxxas,6x6,,and now I got the new 6x6 traxxas, Which does not have a drive shaft issue,,,,,, This company makes me wonder,,,, My s m t's, monster trucks, They produced all those with plastic transmission gears which strip out, And you have to replace those with metal gears, Come on axel,,, I don't know makes me wonder.

  • @R.C.A.D.

    @R.C.A.D.

    They probably did Kevin,🤔 "Otherwise, it's tuff to believe that they would let something like that slip past them.😕 Everything else on the truck is solid, and it's got a great looking body, plus all metal gears, along with Helical Cut Ring & Pinion gears.🤔 "Other than the driveshafts being too short, it's a pretty nice truck across the board. I still like it "at least!😕😄 But it is a bummer that Axial let the driveshaft issue slip past,😒 don't know what they were thinking there,🙄 They did such a good job on the rest of the truck, but somehow or another the driveshaft issue slipped right past them.😕 One of my initial thoughts, was that they were probably just using up a bunch of left over driveshaft stock from another axial vehicle,🤔 kinda like they knew that they were too short for any kind of strenuous usage on the bronco, but used them anyways because they had a pile of leftover stock, and that they were good enough to get the truck out the door.🤔😕 "All Speculation of course" since I'm just trying to figure out "how they could have let something like this happen to begin with.😕 Either a designer messed up on the initial measurements, or Axial intentionally knew about the issue.🤔 And both of those choices are equally believable too, especially with the mindset of the last few generations who've recently joined the workplace,😕 The dude taking the measurements could be some dumba$$ kid fresh out of college, who doesn't give a crap about quality control, just like the rest of the kids from those generations.😕 Either way... at least it was a easy problem to overcome,😄 definitely shouldn't have had to deal with that too begin with, but once again "at least it was easy to fix.😁 Axial Unimog 6×6; That's a bummer about the driveshafts on that too,🤔 "Almost seems like a trend with Axial at this point,😕 Kinda makes you wonder "how many other Axial Crawlers have the same problem ?🤔😕 I was looking at that truck too when it was first released, especially after my brother got his Trx6, I was looking at the Axial and the RC4wd Beast 6×6, "just to have something different, and make the channel more interesting at the same time" The only thing that I didn't like about either truck, was that they didn't have Portal Axles like the trx6, so I crossed my fingers and decided to wait a little bit before buying one, "thinking that Axial would make a Gen 2 version with portals, in order to compete with Traxxas,🤔 Axial had other crawlers with portals at that time, so it just stood to reason "that they would eventually include portals on their 6×6, Right ? 😕 And then before you knew it... Axial quit producing the 6×6 all together,😒 Apparently I waited too long! 🙄 anyways... It's still crazy that they stopped producing them all together, It seems like producing one with portals would be a logical idea on a business standpoint, I mean "why let Traxxas be the only company that has a 6×6 with portal axles,🤔 It only makes sense to make one "keeping that in mind right ? 😕 Otherwise Traxxas has the 6×6 market cornered completely.🙄☹️ I love Traxxas and all, but it's still nice to have different choices in the RC world. Having said all this.. I'm now starting to wonder about Axial my self.🤔? Kinda seems like their just going through the motions in order to make a quick buck vs being interested in producing quality RC's anymore.😕 And if that "indeed" is the situation, then it's a real shame, that they decided to go that route.😒 👆 once again about all the above said thoughts; These are all just my thoughts on everything, and there's absolutely no proof, that any of those thoughts are correct.😂👍 "👆Just to cover my butt" You're Smt 10's; We're those RTR or Kit versions ? Because my brothers Smt 10 was the kit version, and I believe that it came with all metal gears, but I could be wrong? 🤔 I wasn't the person who assembled it. 😂👍
