Other than Finland, nobody does a better F/A 18 Hornet demo than the Swiss. I really wish the US Navy’s demo team would add some of these maneuvers to their show.

I'd dare rank both Finland & Switzerland at the same spot as far as flying the Hornet goes. Those pilots don't just fly the Hornet, they're the true Hornets.

Oh my, everyone at this show has a front row seat. What a beautiful place to fly, and stare at those mountains. Dafydd you are one lucky ( and all the others next to you) person. Those F-18's were so close you could see the rivets. Thanks again for the excitement!

It is about $30k per hour to operate an F18. This is small potatoes but those flare they keep pumping out are $100 each.

The walk from the cable car station is about 90 mins to the top. If you can’t get accommodation on the hill you will have to add approx 20 mins bus journey from brienz.

You have to buy a ticket very fast. Normaly they sellout in a short time. And with out a ticket you cant walk in a spot who is close enough

It’s an event organised by the Swiss airforce for the public so any future events will be advertised online the internet. Search axalp.

The cows have been evacuated ;-). Visitors are limited to designated areas during the display.

You are right: On top of Mount Wildgärst (ans porbably other mountains) you can see spectators. And why not. You cannot empty all the mountains ;-)
