AWKWARD!!! EMBARRASSING PROCEDURE DAY #2: DAILY VLOGS UK

It's an awkward/embarrassing procedure day. I have NOT been looking forward to this one. It's a gynaecology appointment at the hospital. It's my first ever time for that. I thought I was just going for some sort of inspection but it turned out to be very different from what I expected and we also had news about the scholarship application.

Thankyou for being so transparent with your hospital appointment Imo, it really does help other people when the experience is talked and shared about. Hope you continue to feel better, sorry Izzys application didn't work out but sometimes life has a funny way of getting to its final destination, only great things to come for Izzy 😊

Imo, thank you, I know talking about it is uncomfy at times but you've inspired me to book my smear (which I've been terrified about) I know this was a while ago but I binge watch your videos whilst I'm doing my makeup, you're brilliant. Thank you again for the push!

I have a female doctor and when she examined me, there needs to be a 2nd person in the room. I literally don't care, but its the law for this kind of thing. so I get to have an audience. when I had my man bits ultrasound, it was a women doing it and there was a person in training, so I had it done twice. and yes it did not feel well to have that scanned. they need to press you see. I guess I'm lucky to not be shy at all about these things.

Don't worry about this all being "unpalatable".. but rather this being a teaching moment. When I had mine done, I had several friends that had no idea what it was.. and these are women in their 50' and 60's. So after me explaining about it, one of my friends confided in me that she needed to go see her Dr about some abnormal issues. So, yes, as women, we need to be able to speak freely, and educate. It's really not much different than discussing an inner ear issue, or a throat issue, except that throughout the ages, certain body parts have been a taboo subject.

I've had gynae issues since I was 13. I had an abnormal smear one time and when I got the letter I burst into tears fearing the worst. I went for my colposcopy, my mum came with me. We went in the car and it was snowing so we went very slowly. I remember lying on the couch watching the snow on the top bit of window. Same position as smear, they used a swab with some local anaesthetic and something that turned anything abnormal green. The affected area showed as pre cancerous so they used a heated loop to scrape off the top layer of cells until they got to healthy cells. Had period pains for a while and felt a little strange inside.. repeat smear every 3 months following that for a year then a 6 month one. All good. Finally had hysterectomy 6 years ago, best thing ever.

Izzy has my best wishes for next time. It's understandable that you're maybe more disappointed than she is. We understand more about what's at stake and what it can mean. The younger crowd doesn't get that until later. Procedures like this are awful. It's good they got the polyp. Hopefully the pain will lessen quickly. Might a heating pad help?

Awwww... I'm so sorry about Izzy's scholarship being a no go.. let's keep positive and hope that she can apply for this again next year. Sorry to hear that your experience with the colposcopy wasn't such a good one. I had one done last October, along with a cone biopsy, and to be honest I had no discomfort during or afterwards. Not sure if I'm built like an iron horse, but I also had two vaginal births with no labour pains at all. Ha. We all have different thresholds of pain, and it doesn't make one weaker or stronger.. it is just how we are made. We're better off having these procedures done, instead of ignoring our bodies, and that leading to bigger issues.

Ohhhh I had that before I fell pregnant with Brendan. Legs in stirrups, miners helmet and light on their head! The took a biopsy and that sent my cervix in to spasms. Waves of pain and then I was sick. So they injected me with anti sickness, put me on a ward and called Lee. I had driven and gad to leave the car there over night. They said they had never had anyone react thd way I did. But I think my cervix is sensitive. As I go in to labour early too.

The very first time I had a pap smear the pain was unlike any other and the lady gynecologist who at first seemed nice was upset with me that I'm tighting muscels so much she cannot continue so she stopped. I wasn't tighting any muscels consciously, if they were tighting out of pain I couldn't do anyhting about it that I know of. A year later I had a pap smear with different gynecologist, this time I was afraid of it unlike before the first time when I didn't know there is anything to be afraid of. And this second time I didn't feel a thing to a point I started doubting whether the doctor did it or just said to me she did it. After a while I saw the results which were saying everything is okay. Still I wonder is it at all possible to not feel a pap smear and what went wrong the first time then. Those were my only two pap smears because in both cases I feel didn't learn anything about my health.
