Awesome MD-80 footage! Also how was that landing smooth. My back still kind of hurts from my flight that came from Dallas-Love.

4 min in the clouds, and rough air under them for the landing. What do they have about 10 Max's parked there?

Thanks for watching guys. Yes, sometimes people forget that American’s worldwide maintenance headquarters is located in Tulsa. They also have a lot of extra pavement space there.

Why are they permanently grounding these workhorses? What a shame! They all going to be replaced with ugly ass 737s and 318s!

Well it's really more of a necessity than anything else. They're not very efficient compared to today's newer aircraft, but more importantly, it's harder and harder to get parts for these old planes. American has said before that they were retiring planes because they needed parts from the retired planes to keep the active fleet flying. Delta has said similar things about their MD-80 and MD-90 fleets.
